...the whole thing is on only 10 DVDs? There must be some major disc compression going on here. I hope the picture and sound quality isn't comprimised.

I mean, there's being a nerd, and then there's Conan O' Brien's nerd impression, which is exactly what this guy sounds like in my head.

the current season one set has 4 discs, the current season two set has 6 discs...add a disc for the pilot and that's 11 discs...doesn't seem like THAT much compression going on...and season one has one to two episodes per disc, where season two has three to four...maybe season two's more compressed anyway now...(though, even though i bought the damn thing i haven't watched any of it yet...i'm not feeling like i've wasted any money on THAT...)

I kind of think the early, Lynch-directed episodes of season 2 are the high point of the series.

Season 2 gets no love.

I agree. There are plenty of great moments in season 2, they're just spread out. If you cut the season in half and kept the good parts, it would be awesome.

I've been listening to the soundtrack this morning. The soundtrack is just as not crap as the show.

Not crap, with zero waffles, not even for the stupid James/Evelyn detour in season 2. My favorite TV series of all time, well, either TP or "Arrested Development."

When this show was on the air I was in high school and didn't watch any regular tv except star trek tng. Yeah.

So anyway in college my sophmore year during winter break I lived in the dorm and needed to get out and my friends in a big apartment were going to be out of town so they let me crash there. I rented all of the episodes on VHS during that break and had 5 hour solo nightly marathons until I finished. It freaked the fuck out of me.

It meandered for a bit and the ending is bleak but it was worth all he time. Unlike "Lost".

Behind the scenes photos taken by Richard Beymer (Ben Horne), there's really good pictures in here.

Jebus. Those pictures are really something.

I'd yoink out the box set for another repeated viewing if it wasn't for Breaking Bad.

Did anybody know that Peggy Lipton and Quincy Fucking Jones produced this rather attractive young woman? Image

Because I kind of flipped the fuck out when I heard.

Just watched the whole series and the movie, all for the first time ever, a couple months ago. Movie, meh. Teevee show, one of the best shows I've ever seen. Absolutely loved it. Never seen a show end as brilliantly as this. And how in the hell was this show on network television?!?

Is the first five minutes of the second series the ballsiest start to a show in the history of American TV?

Borrowed the DVDs a couple of years ago to finally try to watch it all; I have to admit that I had to force myself though a lot of it and didn't make it to the end.

But at it's best: first series and the Lynch directed episodes, unbeatable.
