Finally finished the series. There was a lot to like about it, especially the first season and the second season up until about halfway through. There was also a lot of random/unnecessary shit like Nadine (hated, hated that character and the stupid Mike subplot) and the James/Donna subplot became tiring. The British dude who's involved w/ Lucy was also a chore.

The finale- hated it at first but then it started to make sense. Cooper seemed to be the only pure, "good," untainted character on the show- maybe Lynch's intention was to show that evil can inhabit even the purest of souls, who knows. Mostly I think he wanted audiences to think the show was going to end on a conventional note and then threw scalding hot coffee in all of our faces. DL didn't even want to reveal who the killer was!

How's Annie? Hahaha! How's Annie?

You're right about the second season getting a bit tedious. I fucking hated Nadine and Mike too. It was partly due to the growing influence of the execs and other writers, and also with Lynch's disillusionment with the series. You can see the quality come back with the later episodes in which Lynch becomes actively involved once again.

I wish there was a fucking season 3. The finale to season 2 was just too fucking cool!

With some of the really good theories over what could've happened in Season 3 floating around out there, it makes the frustration even worse.

Get your Season 1 DVDs up on ebay before word of this spreads.

Sure glad I wasted 50 bucks on season 2 three months ago.

will the pilot finally be available on its own or would people who have both seasons have to buy the fucking box to get it?

It sounds like it will only be available in the set.

The shitty japanese one is only like $12 though.

Even if you have both seasons on DVD I think it looks like this set is going to be more than worth getting.

Barnes & Noble already has it for pre-order, $80. Not bad for a ten disc set. Sweet. Can't wait.

You know what I want?

A DVD set of On The Air, the show he made after Twin Peaks.

When I worked for Big Broadcast Media Conglomerate, I had a friend who worked in the archive.

My boss was a particular kid of jerk, and occasionally at lunch (a bunch of us all ate lunch in the caf together) I would let loose with a stream of invectives about things she had done.

One particularly rough day, my friend gave me a small parcel, wrapped in brown paper. "Watch this when you get home, I bet it makes you feel better."

It was every episode of that show, dumped to tape. He remembered that I was a Lynch freak. Awesome.

He also ended up giving me the original, made for TV Mulholland Drive.

But now I have no working VCR. Dammit.
I make this music.
I also make pictures that you can buy. Feel free to look at my records for sale.

burun, If I can find the link, there is a website for a guy who sells really high-quality DVD-Rs of unavailable Lynch stuff. On the Air, the TV pilot, his contributions to the Lumiere project, lots of things. Sometimes they pop up on ebay for like $5-$10. [/url]

I loved this user comment on Amazon...

...the whole thing is on only 10 DVDs? There must be some major disc compression going on here. I hope the picture and sound quality isn't comprimised.

I mean, there's being a nerd, and then there's Conan O' Brien's nerd impression, which is exactly what this guy sounds like in my head.
