I think Neely's excuse is the exact opposite. He has a new wife, and a new baby, and a TV station handing him money to do what ever he wants to do. I think he doesn't thrive in positive environments.

After all this time, Chris Onstad has produced The Christmas Party, Pt. 2

The dude is making me sad.

Yeah, Yeah, I've heard girls say that they practice blowing carrots in the bathroom at the mall and all that...

That was pretty fucking funny. I stopped there though. I'll read the rest later. Just wanted to dip on that laugh.

Why resuscitate it just to kill it again? Fuck's sake man, shit or get off the pot.

How long did Peanuts run for? Over fifty years, right? Charles Schulz did that thing every day for decades, and did not need to take like a year off and do a bunch of interviews complaining that it was really hard. I also don't think Charles Schulz begged tens of thousands of dollars from his fans only to fuck off for a year and then come back to piss about for another couple of months.

This is a really, really pathetic embarrassing effort we're seeing here.

Apparently, there are legal complications regarding Achewood which stem from his divorce. His now ex-wife ran the business end of the enterprise and I think it's a complicated issue for everybody concerned. You can sort of understand why he isn't putting himself into the comic when it's inexorably linked to his recent past. I think he likes and is good at being a food critic.

There's some interesting stuff to download here.

Oh no, I did not know about Onstad's personal problems; that's a shame. Achewood at its best, was the best.

I know, right? Pretty unexpected.

It's fortunate that Achewood is just about the only comic that would look acceptable being rendered like that. Since it always had a strange, digital, clip-art sort of look to begin with.

But we all know that everything is riding on the voices here.

That video is just like a pilot-esque showreel he's taking to LA to try to get the show made.

Achewood is great, it deserves a wider audience. It'll be weird but I guess we don't have to watch it. Maybe it'll be good, you never know.

Not even clicking on that.

Just tell me this much - is this becoming a cartoon, like with voices added?

I hear these characters voices so perfectly in my head, moreso than I think anything else I have ever read, ever, that I could not bear to hear someone put the "wrong" voices to them, if you know what I mean.

That's interesting. I've read and enjoyed quite a lot of the Achewood stuff, I can't say I'm a megafan (not meant pejoratively, just to reflect my Johnny-come-lately status) like some of you guys but I definitely went through a period of reading it avidly every day, and I never had an idea of what the characters might sound like.
