Wine wins, even though I drink beer more often. Here's the waffle:

Pros:
- Cannot be watered down in bars
- Less calories
- Large variety of flavors from the different grapes, regions, soil types, etc...

Cons:
- Will never be as masculine as beer
- Expensive

Wine wins!

That would be true if I had claimed it to be logical, but I'm actually just killing time here in work before I can head off. Bleechhh. OK, beer wins then.

I have to pick beer....even if I don't want to.

I have a sensitivity to the tannins in wine. They give me the most godawful fucking headaches in the universe. Red, of course, is far worse than white.

The shitter is that I like good wine - especially a good Gewurtstruminer or Pinot Grigio. I used to be able to handle sweeter stuff like Muscat and Port, but I'm not sure I could even handle that.

So it's beer for me. Two Hearted IPA is really good. Same with Czechvar, Ockacim, Bitburger.......

 speaking of wine.... are there any wine geeks on this board? i'm a winemaker from CA, and i'm coming to Chicago next week for the chicago wine experience. Any restaurant/ bar suggestions?

I must say that it takes a lot of beer to make good wine. here at the winery that is our motto. we drink loads of beer during harvest time when we are basically living at the winery. I can't really vote, but i drink more beer, and i think it's true with most winemakers...

Wine. More expensive but 1) tastes better 2) causes less pissing (especially important at crowded parties) and 3) causes less of a hangover. For me, anyway.

As if you needed to ask. I love good beer. But good wine is almost as essential to existence as good food--it's basically an agricultural product. It's also a source of endless fascination in terms of geography, soil, etc., and all the things that essentially comprise terroir.

Beer is usually too bitter for me, especially if I'm drinking while eating, it's like a distraction. Wine is always tasty, in all situations.

I drink a shit-ton of beer, but enjoy a good wine with good food. Over indulging in wine is just brutal the next day for me however.

Too much beer with a meal bloats me, and I can't finish eating..

Beer is essential the essential lubricant for the rock musics.

Beer. by not a wide margin.
