That's the only movie that's on our national tv every new year's eve. Like every year. That and the first Harry Potter movie. And the second one. I find it to be pretty OK for a Willis movie. Pretty entertaining. Does what it has to do.

this movie is so fucking awesome.

So many lines were in-jokes between my old bandmates.

"Push this vile fuck off the road, man!"

Also, Halle Berry shows some of it!

Yeah, and she was relatively unknown at the time. It's funny when she starts dancing and the accompanying music is by the cheesy eighties band Boys Don't Cry.

"Riding on the range / I've got my hat...on / I've got my boots...dusted."

If they do, they're pretentious snobs! I have The Last Boy Scout alongside those movies because I like all of them!

If anything it's more the case that I'm the snob and they'd be surprised to see it there.

For what it's worth I'd rather have a DVD of The Last Boy Scout in my collection than a copy of 2001 or a Steven Soderbergh movie.

You know the movie Darkman? It's got some funny scenes. Like the one wherein they're at the carnival and his prosthetic face starts melting and he shouts "Take it! Take the fucking elephant!" That scene is hilarious. But it's not enough to make Darkman Ultimately Not Crap (Darkman is of course Unmistakably Crap).

But The Last Boy Scout? There's enough jockish, wry, perpetually hungover, witty Not Crap to make it Ultimately Not Crap.

It's a funny movie, and I've got it on bluray disc.

$7.

Not crap enough, though I wouldn't touch The Last Man Standing with a ten-foot pole (am very anal about what movies are allowed in this house, but when it's a two-for-one, half-Crap/half-Not-Crap deal, I don't know what else to do but look the other way).
