Man, how have so many of you gotten a hold of this so early? Oh well, it comes out on Tuesday so I can finally buy the new album legitimately.

The Classical played me "They Were Wrong, So We Drowned" on our way to check out recording studios in Chicago two years ago. Hearing it in a car on the highway for the first time, and not knowing anything about the band, it was not so much a great introduction.

I later bought the record, and loved it quite a bit. I bought "Trench" afterward, liked it too, and noted the interesting change of direction they'd taken from the first album to the second.

I liked "Wrong" so much that I was dumbfounded as to why there were so many bad reviews. I understood a bit more when I heard "Trench". These people, see, they do not like change.

I heard the new Ex Models album, "Chrome Panthers", awhile back and I did not like it. Me, no, I do not like the change either.

I am excited for this new record. Liars, they are not crap. No, no, they are ahead of the game.

I bought the CD from a high street (read: mall, Hamericans) outlet and it came with the DVD. I thought all versions include the DVD?

dunno, I was having a really shitty shitty week, so I stole Drum's Not Dead and the Flaming Lips' At War With the Mystics as a pick-me-up.

it worked.

I have a rule that if I like an album I've stolen, I'll buy the vinyl.

If the vinyl comes with the DVD, I'm all the more excited.

that's all.

I'd have stolen some St John's Wort and a copy of Hustler.

I really like the first three songs on the new album, but the rest, not so much.

Liars, you have 3 songs that I like, but I am still indifferent to you!

So I heard this new record and I like it a good bit.
That last record was all arty for CRAP's sake but this new one is quite nice.
Still though, CRAP :WF: 8

Picked this up today. I have a hard time understanding how people who were so opposed to the last album can do a 180 and love this one so much. They are different, but not wildly - nowhere near as big of a change as from the first album to the second.

Strange.

Anyway, I like it. Interested in watching the DVD, as well as the Oxbow CD/DVD I picked up today.

after my second listen of Drum's not Dead i dediced they're doing the same TYPE of thing as with They Were Wrong. . . but focusing on the "pretty" side as opposed to the "ugly" side (as in TWWSWD)...album #2 is my favorite, but Drum's not Dead grows on me more with each listen...it'll most likely stay my second favorite, but it's still really fucking good...Liars are one fucking NOT CRAP band...

if i'm really really really honest i'll admit that after seeing them perform the 'drum's...' material live, the album could have been better. i think the recording wasn't quite up to par. it seems too muted for the unbelievably kinetic songs they wrote. i can see what they were going for, probably a subtle hypnotic 'can meets krautrock' vibe but the material works better as abrasive noise.

it's a cliche but it should have been an electrical job not an eno job.

they "brought it" in vancouver tonight. they sound like this heat reincarnated. wish they'd played the last track from drum's not dead though... would've been a beautiful closer.

As far as the lps go: they were wrong > drum > they threw us in a trench

Fins to Make Us More Fishlike is my favorite recording of theirs, however. Check out "Every Day Is a Child With Teeth," from that ep, as well as Oneida's killer cover on their split.

But yeah, in my eyes, broken witch, they want your corn not your kids, and there's always room on the broom cannot be denied!

the first few songs from the new record, Liars, sound, from a half-assed spinning, kind of like beck.

we shall see, Liars. we shall see.
