Apples and oranges. I know it's the same singer and the same guitar player, but it's like comparing Slint to um, Squirrel Bait. Or King Kong.

I might get flamed for this, but I might venture to say that Jehu are more crap (although still VERY VERY NOT CRAP) than the Snakes. There are a few songs on both Jehu records that just don't connect with me (although I can listen to "Luau" on repeat for hours.) but I think that the Hot Snakes are much more concise and much more consistent.

Oh, not crap. Jehu is not crap. I've only ever gotten into one Rocket record (Paint With Fragrance?) and it ain't crap.

I musta been subconciously paraphrasing him. But it's true! I mean, Jehu are one of my favorite bands ever, but they do get wandering and self-indulgent at times.

Paint As A Fragrance is a totally different band than Rocket is now. Group Sounds, Hot Charity, Scream Dracula Scream, and All Systems Go 2 in that order are my favorites.

I got one at their show...it totally rips. That band is so not crap it's amazing.

I'm bumping this because i caught them the other night here in london.

so, so not crap. played a few DLJ songs at the end (bullet train, luau).

rick and bassist saved me from getting kicked out by security for having my hipflask.

best show i've been to in ages.

I saw them play the other night in London.

Great show but the sound guy is either deaf or needs to be shot. Everytime the singer really let loose half the room were putting fingers in ears.

It ruined the show!
