In fairness, it is pretty consistent with his MO over the last few years, re-purposed as some kind of country gent, ensconced in a farmhouse in the Cotswolds (you can imagine the references to 'Country House' in profile pieces) where I belive he keeps a dairy herd. I ought to want him flogged but he strikes me as an intelligent and likeable guy who's all too aware of how ridiculous he might appear.

I heard him on the radio a few months ago, and the impression I got was the same that I've always had of him: he's a nice guy, enthusiastic and unpretentious.
