Kentucky Room Basement air volume

Postby jorstua on Thu Feb 25, 2016 6:31 pm

Hi, Im thinking about building a live room similar to the Kentucky room (similar dimensions and adobe walls). Im thinking about the same strategy to obtain a lineal bass response. I have two questions about the design:

How deep is the basement under the joist?

How wide is the perimeter air passage that connects the air gap in the basement with the actual room?

Thanks

Francisco

Hi Francisco,

Steve will jump on to correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's about 7' from the joists to the floor of the basement room.

The air passage is a couple inches.
