Oh hey, so this is a noise rock forum sometimes, right? Why haven't we been recommending you some of powerviolence and grindcore's noisiest bands?

Gas Chamber: https://gaschamberhardcore.bandcamp.com ... ging-light

Cloud Rat: https://cloudrat.bandcamp.com/album/qliphoth

Gowl: https://gowl.bandcamp.com/

Sete Star Sept: https://fuckyogarecords.bandcamp.com/album/sacrifice-3

I played with Gas Chamber on Friday! So good. My friend Brandon does noise for Cloud Rat and I've played with/seen Sete Star Sept multiple times. All great stuff. A bunch of my friends rep Gowl but I've never checked them out. Will change that.

Three recent favorites of the grind/power violence ilk for me are:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-bJH3scB1o
Radiation Blackbody (ex-Defeatist)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eo7fAiBWliU
Sacridose

and

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mkyCV1vHns
Milorganaut
*apologies for the self promotion/tooting of my own horn, but I did release this on cassette as of last week. one of the best midwest powerviolence bands going. completely under appreciated and great dudes to boot.

Sacridose and Defeatist are excellent, will be blasting Radiation Blackbody and Milorganaut at work tomorrow for sure.

I think I've already repped my local pals Hivelords (black metal) and Occult 45 (grind in the Repulsion style) on this thread, but I suppose one more time can't hurt. My grind/d-beat project got back-burnered before we could get a full 7" recorded.

Played with Gas Chamber this last Saturday. Insanely nice dudes, we stayed with the bassist on our Buffalo tour stop. Super great people and the music is unique. It's like prog rock mixed with powerviolence or something.

Milorganaut kill it too. I've seen them perform a few times and have seen the bassist out and about at a few different shows that we've been on. Great band, cool guys.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

In the someday, what's that sound.

I saw that you guys were on that show. That rules. Also saw my friend Andy booked you in Buffalo a while back, which is sweet. Hopefully I'll see you play sometime.

If you like Gas Chamber, you'll def. enjoy Radiation Blackbody. I'm guessing you've already checked out Scaphe and the later Bastard Noise full band stuff?

Yep. The lineup this year is nuts. I can never afford to go, but I might want to attempt it this year.

Really enjoying this record, what do you call this type of music? Is this a genre of some sort or are they just a weird band?

This was done at my place, a punk take on heavy metal, I'm pretty happy with how it came out:

I've been aware of this band called Nokturnel for years, always read about how they were some sort of under-appreciated lost gem, finally checked them out and it's really, really good shit (though unlikely to appeal to people not into metal already). I think this is everything they released since the 00's:

http://nokturneldhr.bandcamp.com

This is a playlist of their first record, long out of print, they've been around since the late 80's:

Contemporaries / buddies with Human Remains, Ripping Corpse, etc, stylistically closer to the latter. So metal they had an EP out in 1994 called "Anti-Grunge":
