Listened to It'll Be Cool after a leisurely breakfast. Mornings this nice are rare.

I never realized that the cover was just a photo--always thought it was Andy pasted against a pattern. Like it even more now.

The new sequence is cool.

It's sort of like the Faith/Void split now, where it will be hard to listen to one side because the other is way better.

The Faith side is good, but why would you turn it over if you could listen to the Void side again?

Is She A Sign is one of the best songs ever written.

That's all.

The best thing it's not even the best song on that record. When you can say that about "Is She A Sign"...damn.

I couldn't find a better thread to post this in, but there's a new Mint Mile 12" coming out.

Bumps from Signor Solomon on this thread usually mean good news, and he did not disappoint. Salut!

The latest from FM tmidgett:

Hello,

Please note the following.

1. Regarding Silkworm reissues:

LIFESTYLE is available from Touch and Go or Comedy Minus One.

IT'LL BE COOL is available from Touch and Go or Comedy Minus One.

CHOKES! is available from Comedy Minus One.

LIBERTINE on Comedy Minus One is sold out. Might make more, might not. Inquire with CMO if you have desires.

IN THE WEST will receive a "deluxe" reissue treatment from CMO similar to the LIBERTINE release. Main difference: In the West has been not just remastered but remixed by Steve, Andy, and Tim. Keep an eye on the Comedy Minus One website for more details.

2. Mint Mile, Tim's "new" group, has completed its 2nd EP.

Title: THE BLISS POINT.

Available now for preorder from Comedy Minus One.

3. For a limited time only, three particular CDs are available from Comedy Minus One for the super low price of $5 each:

Crust Brothers - Marquee Mark
Ein Heit - The Lightning and the Sun
Tim Midgett - It Goes Like This

All that stuff is Googleable if you don't know about it. Or you can click on the names to find out more from CMO. Here's some more info about the Crust Brothers just for fun.

Low price holds until the end of the year or stock is gone. IGLT is almost gone.

Come Jan 1, if we still have stock, we'll keep the other ones around at full price until we either run out or The Singularity occurs, at which point they'll probably evaporate.

4. Andrew Cohen and Light Coma have a new album finished and on the way. It's called Unreality, and it'll be on Comedy Minus One. So WATCH OUT for that.

I wish you the very best. The only bad thing about fall is that it leads to winter. Try to forget that and enjoy it for the wonderful time of year that it is.

Love,

Tim Midyett

Andrew Cohen & Light Coma's Unreality up for pre-order, c/o CMO.

I guess he was singing the words "Sugar Puffs." I've had that 3/4-remembered line stuck in my head since the 2015 BBQ.

Anyway, I'm beyond excited for this album.

I find swimming a mile good exercise, and good for my thinking. While doing a few dozen laps, I do some of my best writing, planning courses, or figuring out problems.

Not today. Oh no. For the entire hour I was in the pool, the same goddamned thing ran through my head, over and over:

I left them out in the ra-ai-ai-ain.
I ought to feel asha-a-a-a-a-amed.
I’ve been livin’ on Sugar Puffs.

Never mind that I had not heard the song in two days. The earworm had done its damage.

Andy Cohen has rendered me an idiot.

10 years ago today, the first Comedy Minus One title - Bottomless Pit's "Hammer of the Gods" - was released.

To celebrate this significant anniversary, please enjoy a gift:

A "name your price" download of the earliest complete live Silkworm set in our possession, recorded at Lounge Ax in Chicago on October 24, 1992.

Mastered / edited recently by Matthew Barnhart.

Thanks for everything so far.

I'm guessing most people interested in this already know, but Tim was kind enough to be an in-person guest on Protonic Reversal and it was pretty cool and informative.
