Havre-aux-glaces!

So I went to Havre-aux-glaces about a month ago. I don't actually remember what I got. Maybe the ginger ice cream. Yeah, ginger and green tea. I was underwhelmed but it was good nonetheless.

Kem CoBa still wins.

The Barfly on Ste. Laurent. Cheap, Punk Rock, Hockey, Friendly Regulars. I went there almost every night when I was in Montreal.

It was possibly the best FOOD I've ever eaten and one of the best restaurant experiences of my entire life.
Seated at the bar, menu scribbled in French on chalkboard I can't see. Nervous. Waiter comes over, just starts chatting. Ah, I get it, he's feeling you out, seeing what he's working with, he'll do the recommendations, menu is not needed.
'I can see you are savages! Red meat is what you want!'

That there, that there. God damn.
Hanger steak with bacon and shredded tongue and chimichurri and whatever, FUCKING HELL, just sublime.

Went to Au Pied the next day because that's how I live my life

Get a fucking look at what they bring me on basically a 'surprise me'
and this is at the END of the meal, could not eat another bite:

about the size of a birthday cake, just a massive hunk of pig.

Foie Gras chicken McNuggets with maple syrup

There's the Poutine

Foie Gras and yadda yadda meatloaf

Also, for any vagitarians, Cafe Santropol has your vegetarian bullshit covered:

Kinda cool that Aux Vivres was mentioned. Gonna be in Montreal tomorrow for a week and love that place. Essential to try for vegetarian/vegans. Will certainly hit it up at some point!
