I've never heard of Machinedrum but would be interested in checking him out, particularly if he's doing something different with Footwork. I'm really not feeling this whole Footwork thing, but I'm difficult when it comes to dance music.

and this isn't really footworky, but reminds me of new order. sorta. in a way.

the record is on planet mu, who have been really great about putting 'genuine' footwork/juke out on vinyl.

Completely forgot I posted this towards the start of the dubstep thread a few years back for a laugh. It's a song I made with a friend for a laugh, without really knowing what dubstep was.

Hello, lover. It's been a while...

Lately I have been pouring over everything on youtube I can find by this label called Purple Music. This Nightrhymes song? It took me a while to warm to the pre-chorus and chorus, but everything else about it is so goddamned house. Love it. Goes great with weed.

Pretty great early coldwave/synthpunk from the frenchies. KaS Product. Goes great with weed.

More frenchness. They sure do know their house music. Biboulakis is a frenchman in NY. Pretty awesome, swingin', jacking, funky house. Get the fuck outta my way. Goes well with weed.

Don't know if I'd say they're "actually good", but these videos have been cracking me up lately.

Michaelangelo Matos has written a fantastic article in this week's Reader about Chicago's house scene, past and present. It's peppered with various links to key tracks, ending with a superb live mix from Derrick Carter & DJ Sneak.
