Cop that El Yucateco Mayan bottle! It's their best one and it's not too spicy!

Is that the black label one? I've tried the green and the red and they both rule. Didn't try the black label one because I assumed it would be way too hot. Guess I'll pick up a bottle soon.

The Mayan one is kind of gold in color and the label is lined with little black and white spirals. Hope you find a bottle! The stuff rules!

Oh yeah I found some at the grocery store over the weekend, the kutbilik stuff. I'll put some on my beans and rice for lunch tomorrow and see if steam shoots out of my ears or anything.

This kubutlik shit is powerful. Almost too spicy for my honky ass but I like it. I put some into my soup today and I'm actually sweating. I think I'm going to get some terrible heartburn in a few hours.

Fucking love that mayan one. So good, but a little goes a LONG way. I kinda stopped using it once I read that lead stuff awhile back. But, I just re-read that Maurice link and the .1 ppm is the FDA safety level for candy for children. One El Yuc was just under that, the other double, but I'm not using much of this stuff at a time. Much less than the equiv of candy. I'm probably more okay about it now after just having re-read that. Bring on the Mayan!

I wish they would put lead in Sriracha so everyone would shut the fuck up about how much they love that garbage

Hot as fuck, but subtly sweet and citrusy.

A-fucking-men. There's usually 3 bottles of something better at any place that would serve this weird tasting crap.

The ridiculous thing is it's just chili powder and vinegar! How boring and one-dimensional.

Basically if you have to put Sriracha on your food, your food sucks. Cook better.

Congratulations, you just described what hot sauce is!

Sriracha has garlic in it too, btw. And sugar. And salt. Sambal is better.

Just received this in the mail:

Been a while since I've had a sauce this hot!

It's just a puree of the Carolina Reaper which is now the hottest chile in the world.

Insanely delicious, but damn it phased me for twenty minutes.

That - El Yucateco green sauce is the best. Pound for pound boxer style. There are lots of others that flip their hair around and try to be be sexxy hot. El Yucateco Green is the best.

Pretty local thing, but this stuff from La Victoria in downtown San Jose, CA is pretty damned original and fantastic and fucking hot, though the heat is a bit inconsistent by batch. Hot peppers be that way sometimes, though.

Yeah but a good hot sauce has a divine alchemy going on, and Sriracha ain't.

No need to hate on sriracha.. if not for you great I personally love it and have tried more than my fair share of hot sauces. Something about it that's just right.

Not a sauce, but similar intent. Just made this. Works well in nearly everything. Only downside is that it makes oversalting a little more likely.

While the delicious Homesweet Homegrown Orange Crush hasn't been at the local co-op in a while, they are carrying this ghost pepper sauce, and it's excellent.

Not that I would have voted for them, but how did Frank's, Cholula, and Tapatio get left off of the poll?

Better "popular" list:
Tabasco
Frank's
Louisiana
Cholula
Tapatio
Valentina
Yucateca
Sriracha
Sambal (various)
Other

Another one I really like is the Yucateco black label habanero. It's got a nice smoky flavor and a tiny bit of sweetness, but not overly sweet like their chipotle sauce.

(though their chipotle sauce is still pretty good and I prefer it over every other chipotle hot sauce)

I tried this stuff at a restaurant when I was in Austin a few months back, and immediately afterwards I picked up a bottle. I've been putting it on everything since. It's absolutely delicious.

^ I randomly just showed that Yellow Bird post to my wife and she said that last week they brought a green version callled ( Serrano ) to the restaurant she manages , to try out. She said it was delicious.
I didn't know about the Yucateco black. Will try very soon.
Maybe I'll spend an entire
Week this holiday season abusing my asshole with different gifts.
