It actually seems less friendly than Wisconsin to me, though it's a vast improvement from California in the "people being friendly" department. Thus far, my favourite English things are cheese, chocolate, the NHS, and hunting down the massive end-of-the-night markdowns at the grocery store.

I had a dream about watching a band on youtube that was so awful that I literally woke up to stop hearing their cacophony in my head. It sounded like hair metal, Hampton Grease Band, Grand Funk and a tortured cat thrown in a blender together with an overwhelming sense of self-satisfaction to boot. I'm honestly not even sure I made it up, because I'm not sure I could make up something so awful. At any rate, I think I need to go back to sleep.
