I'd say they don't belong in anyone's hands ever. Along with tanks and all the rest. They are used purposefully to kill many people quickly, pretty well always for the wrong reasons by madmen or on the orders of madmen. I say a musket should be the most lethal weapon you can get. People might learn to get along even. Too many endless repercussions when you have weapons that can kill mass amounts of people on a whim. With muskets and bayonets, war wouldn't be such a cause for concern haha.

The advent of the musket saw an unprecedented level of carnage in war. I think warring heads of state should be made to play chess or Street Fighter or something instead.

^^the heads of state challenge eachother to a duel. no more letting mass amounts of a country's people suffer if just the one can knowing,y and willing,y scarfice themself as chief public servant of the country which is a voluntary position with this clause coming with the territory so like, one whole nation mourns a loss but that's war. they just heal in the after,at hand run a beauty pageant election for who wants to be the new lleader of their country in the wake of the last leader's heroic war death and it'll be like a glory ceremony. folks would be honored to have such a patriotic death, prob be like a national holiday celebration with some kinda King Arthur on a flaming pyre down the Mississippi to a New Orleans resting place with the gold country holding hands across America, or something

but the duel itself doesn't have to be violent. declaring a thumb war has always been nonviolently effective

What an insane and completely Fd up year 2017 has shaped out to be.

Anybody catch that article in Nat Geo on the Netherlands’ insanely pimped out food production industry?? Kinda put a little color back into the world for me when I read that. I know what language Im learning next. Had my eye out for expat inspirations, and north europe is sounding more and more wonderful

Most people aren't worth the time and effort it takes to insult them.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

In the someday, what's that sound.

^ If they can't understand the nuance of the insult then it's ultimately unfulfilling.

I disagree. Most people are so incredibly dense that one cant help but enjoy making them feel smarter, among many many other things. And where there is little time for chit chat, there is almost always time for buttons, switches and triggers.

Well, you do have a truncated amount of time to live, you know.

I was thinking about the one time I made the trip to see Harry Dean Stanton play a show at the Palomino in L.A. This was probably 1990-ish. He played there all the time. I got to the club early and was standing in the parking lot. A beautiful, green 1957 Chevy pickup truck pulled into the lot right where I happened to be looking. Harry Dean got out of the truck with his guitar case and went into the club, where he proceeded to do a perfectly good set of country standards with a good band. What I was thinking about right this second, though, was seeing the truck pull into the parking lot.
