Thanks for having us this week! I know very little about baseball, but I still really enjoy listening to this.

I forwarded this to my baseball obsessed friends in the band Boat. They'd make a great fit, since they released an EP called "Topps" a few years ago that was all baseball influenced:

An entertaining discussion of the Dodgers' ownership problems highlights this week's podcast.

The musical guest is Maynard (one of the podcast's listeners). I imagine Kevin is happy to feature more PRF bands, should you want to share your music.

Episode 57 is up, and features Victory And Associates.

Already heard from a listener who bought the album.

Changing the horrible musical taste of baseball fans one at a time . . .

Episode 59 is up, and features Martha's Vinyard Ferries, as well as a talk about the debt crisis and an interview with an astrophysicist who could lose his much-needed telescope in the cuts.

BP did an article "12 Favorite Baseball Songs that are NOT by The Baseball Project" and Kevin chose "Curt Flood" by The Bismark. I'm guessing this the first time The Bismarck has been referenced in the company of Ernie Harwell and Kenny Rogers...

Totally rad!
Although, KGUpAndIn... if you wanted to not sully up your page with a myspace link, there's a bandcamp listenable of Curt Flood too.

Transmontane is on this week's podcast. I've lost track, but I think about 20 of the 60 episodes feature PRF records. Thanks to Kevin for putting good music on over the discussion of prospects, trades, hawk traps and beer.

It was out of my control. Editors had some problems embedding the bandcamp thing. The good news is, a few thousand people got to hear to song. Also, and I repeat, WE ALWAYS NEED MORE BANDS, and thanks to Carl for the initial PRF hook-up.

That's fantastic. We invite any bands from the forum to contact me at podcast@baseballprospectus.com and we'll hook you up. The show gets about 20,000 total downloads a month, and we've heard from plenty of listeners who have bought music, and I have a spotify playlist of music from the show that is public. We also recently heard from a listener who has never played live, yet got an invite to do so after we played his stuff on the show. We also curse and lot and argue about food, so I can't imagine how you would not want to be a part of the magic. SEND US MUSIC!

Radiant Republic of Texas is featured on this week's podcast:

Little known detail: the album color schemes are inspired by the late '70s Houston Astros. Thanks Kevin!

If you like early, uptempo Neko Case, the musical guest this week fooled me into thinking Bloodshot had unearthed some 1998-era demos. Lydia Loveless.

Shellac on this week's mini-episode, in which Kevin and Jason discuss the nutty Red Sox/Rays wild-card resolution and Ozzie Guillen's departure from the White Sox.
