One day a week. It's huge.

Please PM me if you're looking for a space.

What's the day / time? Is it a shared gear situation?

I'm all ears if it's still available.

Anybody have an amp tech in or near north Brooklyn?

I have two solid-state bass amps that need some TLC.

You could try Pentatonic in Greenpoint. Not sure what their range of expertise is, so give them a call with your problem.

Pentatonic already passed on one of them.

Investigating Main Drag as well but was hoping for something besides those two.

I don't know if forum user Dr. Tony Balls does SS stuff, but I think it's worth finding out. The two amps and two pedals I've played were hot shit.

Alternatively, the best amp guy I've encountered is the guy currently in employ at Retrofrets. Not cheap, though. It may not be worth it.

I've had 3 1970s solid state amp repairs done through main drag. The last repair was definitely outsourced to another vendor but they did a good job and it didn't seem unreasonably expensive.

Apparently a 13 ft high statue of Captain America is being installed in prospect park. Captain America is of course the intellectual property of Marvel/Disney. WTF.

I'm looking forward to it. The graffiti possibilities are great.

Update:

Our beloved practice space of more than a decade will become offices & storage for the real estate agents selling apartments in the new Greenpoint skyscrapers going up at the end of Franklin Avenue.

Speechless.

GODDAMMIT. That was my favorite practice space ever. It had that fugging swing, skate ramp and everything!

My favorite memory of that space was that Methodist/Cobretti we played at Lulu's next door. We wanted to play that show for the sole purpose of moving our shit down a flight of stairs, and into the next building. It was the best load in of all time. I miss Lulu's and their awesome free pizzas and I miss East River Tattoo downstairs. Those were very fun times for me.

Indeed!

The Lulu's space will be the main real estate agency storefront/sales office/showroom or whatever.
No more pizza.

thought about makin an nyc sos topic, and I'm glad I saw this cause I wasn't gonna do it.

so I am literally just looking for a place to park for one night and crash in my truck. someone told me williamsburg and going by the posts early in the thread I think it sounds safe but maybe hard to find a spot. anyone got any better suggestions or even know a street that's relatively chill to park overnight would be greatful for suggestions. there is always the 24-hour parking garage on the new jersey side, but then, in the interest of saving money, I think I'd just be walking around all night and sleeping at a park the next day.

I live in Sunnyside, parking doesn't seem to be too hard to find here. It's super safe with lots of old people and families.

Greenpoint is a little less dense than Williamsburg.
Try going east on Nassau Ave for a bit. Plenty of easy parking.
Quiet and safe neighborhood.

I'd suggest parking it in a legal spot near the Kaufman Astoria studios. Sparse enough that you should be able to find a spot no problem, but very secure - any one fucking with a truck is going to be presumed fucking with studio property and they will be stopped post-haste.

Just got word of a friend of a friend of a friend (...) opening up a practice space in Ridgewood. PM me if you want me to forward the info along. We don't need it, but maybe you do?
