But yes, a total abrupt style change for sure.

My entry point into the music of the Lilys was that "Nanny In Manhattan" hit streamed in the biggest commercial radio here. I liked a lot before turning 10 years old... but nothing to do with the first three which blew my mind when I later discovered.

I actually think that radio was doing undercover advertising for Levi's since it was the music that sounded in his 1997 ad, and keeping in mind the unusual of the music in a medium that only broadcasted commercial music.

You've been posting some excellent music so far, but this...this...this thing right here -- this is my heart. It's like every best bit of every shoegaze and dreampop song succinctly and expertly documented. I can't put into words what I find so impressive about this release (believe me I've tried) but I fucking love it and will take it with me to the grave. Went so far as to ask a friend living in Japan to write out and translate "Starchart" because I am going to cover it so goddamned hard. Song makes me feel funny inside.

EDIT:

Are you familiar with Roly Poly Rag Bear? It's the more dreampop side of Pasteboard I would think. There's really next to nothing about either of them on the Internet, so if you know if anything I would gladly welcome the information!

Thank you Randall. The closest sounds to Pasteboard that come to my head are True Widow, a drone-slowcore band from Dallas. I really like their first albums and EPs. They do both shoegaze and noise rock, with a unusual closeness to the music of Dylan Carlson (Earth), so they are valid for this topic.

I listened their albums on youtube, they remind me "perfect pop" bands, I usually find those styles cloying, but this does not displease me... only part missing is I don't find the nostalgic point I enjoy in that kind of perfectionist pop... bands from NZ doing the thing called kiwi-pop (The Clean/Chills/Bats), Sparklehorse or Ee (the Sooyoung Park's band after Seam). Also more recent Bored Spies band, Sooyoung's last project, with Orestes Morfin at the drums. They have recorded an album after this 7'' which is unreleased because they disbanded shortly after.

I love that sound which people calls "LOFI", but not any kind of lofi, in particular that LOFI sound in that years, albums and sevens like the Lync, Unwound, Sebadoh, Superchunk, Mineral, Vitreous Humor... many people refers to them with newspeak generalisms such as "indie" or "emo" but these terms do not cover the exact description of the music, which is actually a search for old or new emotions crushed in the mass by culture and TV from the 60s to 90s... just people playing dissonances that ran like electroshock or trepanation tools in the search of the desired or fetish mood. But I better shut up this political or conspiracist shit and put some examples of what I'm trying to say with verbiage:

I started with shoegaze and when I could lift my head and be less oppressed by depression become an assgazer. The beauty of the female buttocks seems to exercise a kind of magnetism with my pupils, but I can say I've not harassed or touched without permission. So I never did a forbidden analingus... but sometimes i dream about that beautiful perfect holes between pairs of hams feeding me as mario bros dreams with mushrooms feeding he in a nintendo world. I've ate snow and improved snow which is iced lime with crushed iced vodka, and felt in Soviet Russia, but without the coat and in shorts. I'm not proud to congratulate this 2018 year to all FMs and sneakers, but I've been not confirmed as a hoodoo, so yes, I can congratulate the 2016 year. Congratulations. If you vote me I will make the years start in the summer again, also in the north hemisphere.

yeah butt its trying to bother you, just cause the circus is in town d oesn't need to mean you gotta see every damn trick constantly l there's a reason you dont space out into free shows
pull your head out of all these asses and shoegaze at something that won't consume you with obsession, just a bunch of analiguses trying to control your brain while you're too drunk and depressed to find a good real life butt or else funny butts that at least make you laugh

You have hit the nail. I enjoy the assgazing like being a child enjoyed that all toy catalogs from Toys R'Us et al. My working class parents could only give me something that would serve me for something real in life in school or in sports. I loved toy catalogs as much as in that same years real men™ loved penthouse or playboy magazines and the marlboro cigarettes. Butt life isn't a catalog for fat people triying to having a his own lovely and exclusive ass. I grew many years ago, now I only feel that pupil magnetism for extraordinary items, like asses in mini-shorts with the gluteus meat half down out the "pants" or sportive women in yoga leggings doing his sportive supremacy walking with fast and splendorous strides i can no follow but see. I mean, it's nice to enjoy a longing, more beautiful than having it, but never been obsessed about asses at least in the last ten years.

longing is never better than having it. you don't even know what longing is until you've had it and are longing for it again. that's real yearning, the folks who love and lose not the ones that never have loved at all. shoegazing into something matters where it's being directed. the entirety of human history has not viewed butts as easily or readily or sluttily as we do today. what consequences do we ignore when he jizz fist and ask questions later?

girls might look hott but it matters if they're carnivals fans or kick people of minority races like I yelled at this one chick for that people thought she wasn't that way for lookin guy like a sweet girl, to like evil itself, there's a reason you don't worship i Anna trump or Kim lamedashian, it's boring and soulless and the deepest purest senses get ruined when blasting fake porn on a screen interrupts a Grand Canyon sunrise. what you're looking at when you see ass is an illusion. get your mind out of the gutter, you didn't stare at asses as a kid stop being a creepy adult about it now. you are ruining real women with easiness and it's urging the girls of the next generations body image looking up to such falsity and easy male pleasing. girls are being divided into militant or carboard hoes. stop it.
