My heart goes out to you both. Stay well, boilermaker.

(Also - and I'm sure this is the last thing on your mind right now, but the US health system being what it is - let me know if you need financial support and I'll send whatever I can spare your way.)

A close relative of mine has been diagnosed with a brain tumour and is about to have a biopsy. It's a curiously empty, bleak feeling when cancer arrives in your family. Reading this thread has been a great comfort, people really do have amazing reserves of strength. Best wishes to everyone giving it the fight.

You can answer these questions via PM, or on this thread.....

Where is the tumour located in the brain?
Where is the surgery/biopsy happening?
What have the doctors/surgeons said (type of tumour, primary or secondary?).

I can share information, and, what to expect.

I'm very sorry.

Hey, thanks for replying. At the moment, I don't know very much as this all just happened in the last couple of days. She was beginning to have noticeable health problems with vision and motor function so the family doctor sent her for a scan. A tumour on (I think) the right side, to the rear of the brain was discovered last week. Biopsy in the same hospital tomorrow.

I've never experienced anything like this so I can't speculate as to the quality of cancer care here in Scotland but things seem to be moving very quickly and she seems well cared for. Once I know more it would be a great help to come back and talk some more about it.

Congratulations to you on your success, very inspiring!

Thanks for all the kind words above. I would find it very difficult to go on if not for Leeanne's amazing strength and the kind words of support from others.

Pasta, your story is an inspiration - bigsky is correct. Sorry to hear about your relative bigsky.

I am glad that something good has come out of our experience.

It has not been easy.

Many times I wondered if our marriage would survive. The narcisistic head space that is, to an extent, required, of a patient. Combined with the constant worrying and fear that she has, makes a pretty awful cocktail for a relationship.

Having both lost our jobs last year, we're practically broke, due to medical expenses.

Daily and weekly check ins. Therapy. Meditation, all help.

Our community of friends, here in pdx, and through the PRF, have brought us incredible support and joy. All discretionary spending has been cut off, solely so we can attend the BBQ again.

I'm a little rambly this morning. I think I can speakfor this entire community though....

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
YOU ARE LOVED
