Sad news indeed, but at least the dude was certainly able to live a full and prolific life. I listened to Hex Enduction Hour today in his memory. RIP.

I was saddened, albeit not surprised, to read about M.E.S. I've been on the Fall's unofficial fan page on Facebook for some time now, and whilst gossip and speculation are as rife there as on any fan forum, it's been common knowledge among the outer sanctum that he's been gravely ill for some time now.

I know the Fall cancelled a seven-night residency they were due to play in New York last year, and that the dates were re-scheduled for February 2018 - but when the rescheduled dates were also cancelled I thought to myself "it's over".

I'm not going to leave a teary-eyed elegy as I suspect he'd have scorned that, but I will raise a glass and dig deep into the back catalogue again as I have so many formative memories associated with it. Godspeed, you old contrarian genius you.
The panda made me do it.

Really cut up about MES RIP'ing. Been spinning Slates
and A-Sides 8489 a lot in honour of this mad bastard.

"Off Season" and its sequel made for very nauseating reading. The only books that made me want to be sick at times. He was good at suspense and intensity. RIP.

Experimental filmmaker Paul Clipson. Excerpts of his beautiful work can be viewed here: Paul Clipson's Vimeo

Also, there is a GoFundMe page for funeral and memorial costs.

Here's a pretty great interview with Clipson talking to Geeta Dayal about his work. He says that he's not a musician, but in my opinion, his approach was completely musical.

Mickey Jones

You might (like me) recognize him from '80s movies, but he got more famous later on a TV show.

Years later I found out he filled in for Levon Helm when LH didn't want to go to Europe with Dylan.
He's the drummer on the famous Dylan 'Royal Albert Hall' bootlegs! And he kicks some ass. He released a DVD of his 8mm home movies from the tour which is super cool. He also played with Johnny Rivers and Kenny Rogers (The First Edition).

RIP Mickey

A few years ago, our dog was in a film in which Reg played the antagonist. His on-screen persona was aggressive and belligerent; his off-screen persona was warm, kind, and extremely funny. I'm glad I got to meet him and am sad he died so young.
