Ooh. He was a regular in Miike films. Shame.

Hayden White died yesterday, a fact that may be used to conclude a powerful narrative.

Oh, Christ. Dave Tritt died? I knew him a bit during the early '90s and I later had a hand in reissuing the first Rat at Rat R album after he'd left the country. Please feel free to PM details or (if they're public) post them. Thanks.

OE, I only see it on the band FB page. One of the band's comments in the thread is

"David passed away Sat. early morning. We are all in shock_

Wow, dude lived 53 years longer than they thought he would.

Kind of weird, I guess I've always taken it for granted that he was there, and forgot that it was actually pretty amazing that he was alive - let alone still doing groundbreaking work.

RIP Caleb Scofield. Bassist, husband, father, and my friend. Cave In, Old Man Gloom and Zozobra. 39 and died yesterday in a car crash. I am gutted. Caleb always had a smile and something nice to say. He always seemed genuinely happy to see me whenever our paths crossed. He and his bands stayed at my place in Chicago at different times over the years. He was in LA for awhile when I was. We have two dozen or more mutual friends. He was a friend and a comrade. He will be sorely missed. He leaves behind a wife and two children.

RIP my friend, you are gone way too soon. You were one of the good people. Thanks for the music, especially Old Man Gloom.

Dammit.

That guy was a good egg, and a brilliant musician. Really big loss all around.

While I'm not about to hit anyone with the "Hard Sell", here is a link to Caleb's memorial fund.
