He wasn’t all that old. I’m so thankful for his music.

Glenn Branca was a hero. Probably the first minimalist music that I really loved. Changed my life. Fuck cancer.

Tom Wolfe and the Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test turned the world of journalism on its head. This was a very fitting tribute

A witness told police they saw a man "clowning around and riding the rail of the escalator" at the mall's theater level...

I'm not poking fun at this man's death but the first thing that came to my mind when reading this was the Anal Cunt song "Everyone in Anal Cunt is Dumb".

No wonder I've been seeing so much Glenn Branca. Was a big fan of Lesson Number 1. He had an enormous influence on Sonic Youth in their early days.
Ill continue my day to day life, and if youre psycho enough to come find me, we'll fight until one of us has blood pouring out of his ears. Until that day, fuck you and your lute

My most memorable hikes can be classified as 'Shortcuts that Backfired'

Robert Brylewski, a truly great and troubled personality and beyond any doubt a fundamentally good soul. He was the leading force behind one of the most incredible rock albums Poland has ever produced, it was recorded by 20 to 21 year-olds during the martial law in Poland in early 1982 under the disguise of to-be-opened recording studio tests. Vast majority of the first pressing was destroyed after someone from the state (someone from the ministry of culture, most likely) heard it. I remember hearing it for the first time in the late 90's/early 00's and thinking it still sounderd pretty remarkable by any standards.

Anthony Bourdain

Nothing makes sense about this. He was reportedly in the midst of filming an episode of "Parts Unknown" in Paris with Eric Ripert. Bourdain has frequently marveled at how lucky he is to live the life he's been living for the past couple of decades: going from a humble cook to being paid to travel, and having the opportunity to befriend people like Ripert, who he'd idolized. (If you've ever seen an episode of one of Bourdain's shows where he hangs out with Ripert, they're adorable together.)

It's often said that suicide is "senseless." But the circumstances of this are truly, horrifyingly unfathomable.
