PRF BBQ 2012 Lineup and Schedule. June 27-July 1st

Postby Marsupialized on Mon Feb 27, 2012 2:00 pm

This is the thread where I will post the lineup and schedule for PRF BBQ 2012.

We are holding this event in memory of John Grabski of the band Teeth who lost his battle with cancer this year. Plans were in the works to fly Teeth to this year’s BBQ and to have them perform. He was robbed of the chance to do this. We party in his honor, and we intend to party hard, so we decided to do it right.

Image

As of right now, we have events planned for Wednesday June 27: The 2nd or 3rd annual PRF Adult Day Care Roller Coaster Romp n' Rodeo at Great America, to check out the new fucking bad ass X-Flight Coaster.

After Roller Coasters, under cover of night, a small faction may break away from the group and seek out a bit more ADULT themed debauchery. The 2nd annual PRF Festival of Lechery will commence with either a commando style raid into a nearby farmyard, where we'll commandeer dairy cows to use in our crossing the border into our slow witted, but good natured, portly neighbor Wisconsin in search of these lapdansical delights, or do it correctly and head straight to Harvey, blasting stoner rock jams the entire way down.

Thursday June 28, afternoon, The 2nd annual PRF Beach BBQ Hang n' Bang on the the lakefront. We go, we chill, we swim, we eat hot dogs and take turns oiling one another up like silly little freaks. It's a stone groove. Acoustic beach bongo rock is being negotiated as we speak.

Thursday night, the party moves down to Kitchen Sink for John George Pepper's First Annual PRF BBQ Civilized MicroBrew Tasting Soiree.
http://kitchensinkcafe.blogspot.com/

PRF members from near and far who hold craft beer in high regard will brings their favorites from their neck of the woods and everyone will share and taste and feel fine.

There will be live music this evening from:

Gay Name (NYC / Chicago)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gila2Yc_Yw0

Loex (Chicago)
http://loex.bandcamp.com/

Small Awesome (Chicago)
http://smallawesome.bandcamp.com/

Blank Banker (Parts Unknown)
http://blankbanker.bandcamp.com/

Friday, all daylight hours, people do whatever the hell they feel like.
Personally, I would hope there is love making, mass showering, sightseeing, hard hitting street puppetry, Hot Dougs, that sort of thing.

Let us begin again Friday night June 29th at Quenchers for the PRF International Friday Night Lights 7 Band Power Run
I have instructed the city to begin 'testing' the citywide air raid warning siren system at exactly 8pm, when you hear this, it means the first band is starting. Drop what you are doing and immediately get into Quenchers for rock.
Outdoor patio WILL be open, BBQ will be taking place!

Hey Sup,

Here is a more updated link for Departures: http://www.soundcloud.com/departuresband

That one is very old/shouldn't exist as it was just used for a festival we played once.

Very excited!

There is a full schedule both Saturday and Sunday, noon till late night.
It's gonna be awhile till I can release those schedules, as we do not even have a venue yet and I am wrist deep in slot shuffling right this very second and assume I will continue to be for awhile.

It's real, real good. Trust me.

Kash is an amazing band. Bear Claw has had the opportunity to do a small east coast tour with them back in like 2004 and then a show in 2008 in Italy and both were amazing...

I will be trying to come back for a visit during this period for sure. I can't miss two summertime BBQ's. Its just too much to miss twice...

Hey, not for sure yet, still going back and forth with emails but if it happens would The Gary mind if someone sat in with them for their set? I told him you would be cool with it.

I was pushing for a full Zwan reunion at this BBQ, but sadly, bridges have been burned beyond repair. I guess Bill here got like three of those dudes pregnant on tour, and then just took off.

I can probably deliver Pajo, Paz, and Sweeney, but I got no pipeline at any Pumpkins.

I've never heard music by Kash, but in college I printed and laminated a show poster for Shellac and they were on the bill.

Looking forward to this!

Seconded.
A whopping thirteen years of guiding the melody via bass guitar in ifihadahifi.
Also swell guy.

Band just added out of left field who have not played, to my knowledge in many, many moons. Fuck yeah. Not one which any of those rumors have been swirling around in darkened corners about, either. This one was out of nowhere and it's gonna be great!

Stay tuned!
