I Made Another Rock Opera.

Postby jimmy two hands on Sun Sep 15, 2013 10:17 pm

Hey, I already got one spam thread for crap I do so I feel weird starting another. But! I just finished recording a rock opera about people who build a free range zoo on the moon to disastrous consequences, and I'm kinda proud of it. So I feel like sharing. Since it's different than my normal solo act, I am calling this act Blunderbus.

Here's the link!

And here's the cover art.
Image

I wrote it in 2004 but just finished it now, not because of a Chinese Democracy type bloated mess or a Smile type drug freakout, but of general laziness since I only decided to record it this year. Anyway, it's a free download unless you want to pay money for some reason.

Dig!

Thanks dude!

Also, there's another rock opera on the site I did in 2003 and remixed last year, with some mastering help from FM matte. It's about fast food. It's also free. What can I say, I like writing rock operas.

Awesome! On my second listen and I feel like I'm finally starting to understand what's really going on. Fwiw, I think he *should* have seen it coming, but yknow armchair quarterback and all. Who knows what mistakes I'll make when I start up my own enterprises on the moon

This is a little weird. Back in the late 80s, Season 2 Risk frontman Steve Tulipana and I used to discuss writing a rock opera about a zookeeper trying to track down a runaway armadillo.

It's a little close to home, dude.

You'll be hearing from my lawyer.

From the artwork, the moon in question is Tethys, maybe Dione?

J2H, your awesome Rock Opera Cover Art deserves a better typeface.

excellent concept, however without a high-energy stage show (on or off-Broadway, either is acceptable) I am afraid I must rate this a complete failure.

How about going all Fear of a Black Planet?

Antique Olive, apparently.

Actually I almost went with the stencil font. A sans-serif font would definitely be a better starting point. Maybe I'l make an adjustment.
