GEAR:
I'm cool with bringing most of my gear this time around. Our PA is good and loud, everything will be mic'd, so if you're not terrified of the idea of playing through a measly 2x12/1x15 cab, you're welcome to use this gear! (to be honest, the bands that have used smaller gear have historically sounded better in that room!)
Looking for a drum kit for the main stage. Backup heads or cabs are welcome, and I'll most likely have room in the U-Haul to transport it for you!

drummers: bring snare, cymbals and kick pedal unless you've arranged otherwise!

Here's what I'm bringing:

Guitar:
Marshall JCM 800 2204 (50w) (main stage)
Marshal JCM 800 1959 (100w)(main stage)
Tallchris' JCM 800 2204 (50w) (backup)
Tallchris' 2x12 guitar cab (main stage)
John (six acre lake) Hiwatt 50w head, Traynor YBA-1 head, 2xHiwatt 4x12's. (main stage)
MusicMan 210 sixty-five combo (65w) (floor stage)
Emperor 2x12 cab with Vintage 30's (8 ohm, 120w handling) (floor stage)
Emperor 1x15 cab with Eminence Big Ben (8 ohm, 200w handling) (main stage)
Ryan Werner's 4x12 (vintage 30) cab with Rivera head. (main stage)

Bass:
Ampeg V-4b (120w) (floor stage)
GK 400rb (200w) (main stage)
Emperor 1x15 cab with Eminence Legend (8 ohm, 300w handling) (floor stage)
2x 1x15" Dietz cabs (main stage)
Tallchris' GK 400rb (backup)

Drums:
Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz Kit: (12", 14", 18") hi hat stand, 1 boom cymbal stand, 1 straight stand(floor stage)

Caix's custom kit: (12", 16", 24") (main stage)
Neil and Caix's drum hardware (main stage)

This is during school holiday, and Dad wants to go. Might well be logistically/financially impossible, though. We'll see.

If you can find cheap airfare, the rest of it is very inexpensive- somewhere along the lines of $150 per person for the entire stay (3 nights) including meals! We can get you up to the U.P. in one of our cars if you can get to chicago.

Sounds good. I'll try really hard. We're set on Chicago, and 2 USA trips in one calendar year seems kind of crazy, but Dad was immediately interested when I mentioned this, so who knows?

It's like the summer BBQ, except freezing cold, extremely cheap, everyone gets completely wasted and draws penises on everything, the hot tub is full of crazed naked people at 6 am, and roaming packs of evil hillbilly children steal your Canadian Doritos. It's totally awesome.

The bar and lounge is great and the restaurant serves up some good food. I didn't go outside for days except to watch people set off fireworks at 3 am.

Here's a thing we're gonna try this year- one of the nights, for the final time slot, we're gonna try rapid-fire cover sets. You'll put together a group and learn 10 minutes of cover material by a band of your choice. Much like The Hype's sets, you won't know the band order ahead of time- the MC will call you up when it's your turn.

To make this work, everyone MUST use the same exact backline. No amp/head switching, no cymbal/snare switching. Minimal drum adjusting. We'll have a distortion pedal at each amp. You can use your own guitars/basses. Other than that, it's just 'get up, plug in and go'. If you feel like you need to lay out an array of effects, or you need a very specific fuzz pedal or it won't work, then you're missing the point and this isn't the challenge for you. 5 minutes from the time one band stops playing to the time the next band starts. 8 or so mini sets in 2 hours.

DO IT!!!!
