haha gad. every single time we eat at a restaurant, when the check comes i always watch my mom cause its always the same... she picks it up like a book and i call it "the story of the bill" she sits there reading every line going through everyones order accounting for it all and points out any mistakes and asks about charges for refills and all kinds of stuff and i just laugh and say "its not a mystery novel.. you ordered the food! and then you ate it!! you know its all there can we go already gaaaaawwl!!" and then she says "quiet" like she'll have to start over if i keep talking and then i play with something on the table or hit the bathroom for the end cause she doesnt follow my tip math

i give 20% but i add dollars for decades in age like, if our server is in her 70s i'm throwing in $7 even if all i got was a $5 bacon or something, cause at that point in time im sitting down in a restuarnt being served like a princess haha bacon i didnt have to hunt or kill or anything and this woman deserves to be sitting down like a queen having some too but the world is dumb and everybody says money so i usually end up giving too much and i come up with systems to help.. 20% + $7 has been working out for me

"Well, he was a product of his time"
Said in defense of some historical figure being racist or sexist. Well so what, a racist and a sexist today is also "a product of their time". What a meaningless phrase.

"Join the 21st century", "these guys will have to be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century"
Said about foreign culture of choice, religious fundies and so on. Newsflash, wise-guy, they are already in the 21st century. They are part of the same world you and I inhabit. Get down to dealing with that fact and drop the clichés.

"When people are in this country, they should follow our laws. If they don't like it, they can go back home. If we went to their country, we wouldn't be allowed to [insert thing]"
Obviously it's reasonable to expect people to follow the law, but the implication is that there is nothing giving the law validity except being "our laws". In other words if I went somewhere else, you would be fine with me beating my kids or stoning women or whatnot.

I wish people would stop saying "that's everything". Fuck you, one thing can't be everything, and you're an annoying prick. Also, if I hear ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK HAHAHAA one more time, somebody will get stabbed in the eye with a rusty knitting needle.

". . . on Facebook"

I hate that everything that made the Internet fun (hanging out with friends and family, message boards, updates, etc.) is being sent into that hellhole. Oh well . . . :(

Respect democracy, the will of the people, suck it up, blah blah blah. Ohh, funny how you lefties only like democracy when it goes your way, etc.

I don't give a fuck about democracy! I just want to live in a better world! If we are heading towards catastrophe, it's no fucking comfort to know that it was a democratically mandated catastrophe. If people are suffering, I'm not going to just say "sorry, we have an electoral mandate for this, so suck it up please".

And that's another thing. Fucking right wingers gloating. Been having to listen to it all year.

Left-wingers don't do this, do we? When the Paris agreement was ratified, I didn't strut around going "the best thing about this is watching all the right wingers eat shit". I don't care about that! But when they win... well, they don't even know what they are going to do with their wins, but it seems they're mostly in it for drinking leftie tears, gloating and telling people "you lost", like the only fucking benefit they actually get is the enjoyment of watching others lose.

I gloated like a mofo at every opportunity whenever we scored any liberal victory.

So, like what, three times in my life? I gloated those three times.
