I just can't believe you kept a lid on this for so long. And you with your own radio show and all. Must have been driving you crazy!

Cheers man, I am really happy for you and hope that the experience lived up to what your dreams were for it.

Nice work sir!

I love that you can see Tony's Amoeba bag in the picture behind Dale's kit. He got some good scores.

Man, all the live pics look like last known photographs or something, but here goes:

Yes, that is the Melvins guitar-senal in the background there. No, we were not allowed to touch Buzz's EGCs (everything else was fine though).

And yeah, this is where the Melvins make all their records now, doesn't look like much, but man they get some great sounds out of that little room. Ladder and all.

Also: it was hot as fuck.
Middle of a heatwave actually. Only the control room had any kind of cooling, so there was even more impetus to not screw up.

When i'm in radio show mode, i'm in radio show mode, flogging my wares is not top of the priority list.

Also, I didn't want it revealed until it was all done though, and that involved a lot of nickel and dime saving to get it mastered. Otherwise this thread would have probably happened in November.

Yes, it was driving me crazy though. Going to any show locally, especially after V and A decided to call it quits the natural question is to ask:
"So, what are you up to now?"
I found lots of fun ways to be evasive and change the topic. let's put it that way.

Yeah, I gotta say it was pretty special to be standing in a room with one of rock 'n rolls greatest drummers (IMO) talking about the Muscle Shoals documentary and then "should we start?", looking over at Tony who nods back, looking at (OMG)Dale Crover(OMG) and just tearing right into it.

Surreal and absolutely amazing.
The fact that live shows are even in discussion is an extra round of "fuck it-list" bonus points.

Sounding good! Favorite so far: Sunk Costs.

Is that Dale's vintage Broadkaster kit that he's mentioned in interviews?

Cool record. Tony and Dale make a killer rhythm section. Cool Cheap Trick homage in first track. Hear lots of mid-period Killing Joke and "Mean Streets"-era Van Halen elsewhere. Eugene Robinson cameo is totally off the fuckin' rails, just nuts. I loved Mount Vicious and V&A had some jams, but I've been waiting for Conan to get mean again for a while.

Only complaint is that I wish there were more lyrics about robots and cryptozoology, but maybe next time? Will cop an LP when they're done.

Probably shouldn't give away the store, but i'm sick of secrets...
next one is an in depth look/character examination of Hannibal Lecter.

With any luck that'll be right after the west coast tour in May.
Not to give anything away, but those songs are all (generally) a little more brutal and all in Drop-C.
I'm hoping we can tighten up the turn around time too, but that all moves at the pace of $$$.

It wouldn't be outside the realm of possibilities to do a set at PRF BBQ Chicago too... as long as it doesn't clash with the Melvins schedule and whatever else and our hardworking Chicago PRF core would have us.

We'll see... we'll see.

As I sit here and crank H.A.T. the fact his happens makes me feel like the bonus round in life. You know?

biscuitdough wrote:Is that Dale's vintage Broadkaster kit that he's mentioned in interviews?

It is indeed!
It's amazing how beastly that kit sounds.

Thanks for all of the kind words friends. Means a lot. Please play it loud.

So, we just recorded record number two last week. I'm personally still riding the high of the first one, but this next one is a step above and beyond, in my humble opinion.

I agree.
A little different too.

But much, more about that later.
I'm thinking we will be mixed by July with a release as soon as we can get it out there... probably fall.

Speaking of which: We have cds. If you ordered one, you probably received them by now.

What's up with the vinyl?
Any day now. Most recent estimate is the very beginning of June. Delays all due to very understandable things.

We're finally getting around to sending the EoE stuff to radio, so if there is a station that you think might like it, or a show... feel free to PM me here and i'll make sure it happens.

Lastly: We are playing the last night of the PRF BBQ in Chicago. Unfortunately timing worked out that Melvins are playing Toronto at the same time. So we will have Jordan from REPTOID filling in on drums. That is a very cool thing though. Pretty sure we'll be able to do some shows in the fall with Dale, who is a very, very busy guy.

Obv. the Chicago PRF BBQ was a blast (no shocker, right?). Looks like there is some video floating around, so once we pair that with the (excellent) audio that MattE has provided i'll post that here. OK! Neat.

Other things i'd like to post here, WE GOT VINYL:

Trust me the pictures do not do this justice.
If you are a main person of the vinyl thing, then please consider picking up a copy.
Shipping out just as soon as I restock on mailers.

(We have cds too, but we've had those for awhile.)

As per normal, order on the bandcamp.

Also, if for some reason you don't like streaming stuff on bandcamp or the spotify or whatever the record is on soundcloud now too. Neat.
phpBB [media]

What else?
Second record is being mixed... oh, and we'll be playing PRF Louisvile with Jordan filling in on drums as well. There's more news too, but I don't want to say a damn thing until it's confirmed.
