Lardo Thread (album #2 out now)

Figured one of these was in order, we have some stuff coming up and I get contacted through the forum about it now and then.

First off, here's the new album. It was all recorded by Jon San Paolo/JSPOMGWTF/FMspacebar/world's least internet present guy. Sounds fantastic. High quality FLAC (24-bit) or decent mp3 download or vinyl pre-order for sale. It was mastered and cut by FM goosman. Descriptors: "Shellac with a dial-up modem", "The dumb rock of the future", and "Angry Dadcore" are all applicable.
............

Shows coming up that we're hoping to expand on (hopefully nearby cities):

-PRFBBQ, Saturday evening the 20th at the creepy mermaid-looking place.
-Thursday July 30th @ the Wicker Park Emporium with Fake Limbs. Free show!

This Lardo stuff has a pretty legit "Crank" factor.

in all seriousness though:
Lardo is great.

154, I would like to play these tunes on my show and the station which I have helped found.

I would presume that is a-ok, yes?

I'm sort of shocked that the Bit Commander has stayed as far off the radar as it has.

I bought mine a few years ago and it's serial # 1 thousand something. They sell them at friggin' Guitar Center!

I think most people only stick with it for a week before it goes into 'the pile' though. Fun tip: you can also use it as a really primitive vocoder.

Every time I think "Board send + Reamp + Bit Commander + Direct Box", the possibilities seem endless. That said, I think you are correct about it not being for everyone.

I prefer the SubDecay OctaSynth to the Bit Commander, but just barely. The Bit Commander rips.

If you've seen Deerhoof play recently - the gnarly guitar synth tones John D. is getting are coming from a Bit Commander.

We did something like that to some of Djs drums for this

https://ifihadahifi.bandcamp.com/track/ ... xy-results

But we used my WMD Giegercounter Civ issue.

the weird thing is I don't really like that box on guitar, it is just to much distortion, but it sounds great on keys or other stuff so I keep it around.

FM 154 has more or less put his distinctive stamp on that sound, making me wonder if I should just sell mine, but it did get some use on bass on this Radiant Republic track.
Prime numbers and tonal clusters with Radiant Republic.

Bass in the Heavy Bombers We're on the PRF Singles Comp Q1.

Sax with Begin By Gathering Supplies.

Terrible News.

Come to think of it...

When I heard "2ong", I though "Huh. It's like a really wound up Grifters."

Not many bands get anywhere near that.

This is fucking disturbing. I actually looked it up to make sure this wasn't the name of some popular new indie act, but no, you really mean the Steve Winwood song. Torture away!

The projected arrival date for vinyl is early July so probably not, unfortunately. I might have to come up with some sort of system for attendees: discount code cards or something.
