Instantly sold on the idea of Hawaii as a location for a PRF #compound. Scout it out, let us know. Thx

Every now and then I'll stop dead in my tracks and think "Why did I choose not to spend my life surfing? What made me think this was a better idea?"

Find Michael Markowski on Facebook. I don't think he posts here.

I know MM would like to do one, or he's at least explored the idea out loud IIRC.

He does, just not often.

Many times! He even had a venue in mind that he showed me.
I liked it, it had potential.

His thoughts were Oahu, since A) that's where he lives, B) that's probably the easiest for most folks to get to.

And it wasn't in Honolulu, was closer to Haleiwa if I remember right. Sort of by the Dole Plantation.
I dug that idea though, get off of the Waikiki tourist trap and get to where stuff is a little more real and you might have the ability to do something cool without everybody seeing dollar signs in their eyes over it.

The place that I showed Conan was a bar called Kemo'o's Farm. It has an upstairs bar with a stage (and a kitchen) and a downstairs bar that is both inside and outside. It would be cool to have it there, but it is away from Waikiki and hotels (not that it's far to drive to or even get a bus)

There is another venue in town that is close to hotels and has a large room and a smaller room and also another room filled with pool tables that could potentially be a cool place to do it. If people have any questions about this or Oahu, please feel free to ask.

Also if people are interested in buying a compound, I'm a real estate agent out here and can help get the deal done.

I'm also 95% going to the PRF West Coast BBQ. Feel free to hunt me down and we can discuss possibilities about the PRF Way Out West Luau!

Good job, State of Hawai'i and Ismail Elshikh, Hawai'i State Attorney General Doug Chin, and Judge Derrick K. Watson (United States District Court, Honolulu); keep up the good work.

2 Federal Judges Rule Against Trump’s Latest Travel Ban

The two court orders were not a final ruling on the constitutionality of Mr. Trump’s ban, and the administration has expressed confidence that courts will ultimately affirm Mr. Trump’s power to issue the restrictions.

But the legal debate is likely to be a protracted and unusually personal fight for the administration, touching Mr. Trump and a number of his key aides directly and raising the prospect that their public comments and private communications will be scrutinized.

The lawsuits against the ban have extensively cited Mr. Trump’s comments during the presidential campaign. Attorney General Bob Ferguson of Washington, who successfully challenged Mr. Trump’s first order, has indicated that in an extended legal fight, he could seek depositions from administration officials and request documents that would expose the full process by which Trump aides crafted the ban.

Figures. Drat.

On further consideration, Hawaii might not be the best location for a compound, in the long run; it seems perhaps too vulnerable, climatologically and geologically and all that, to the worst of the coming ecocatastrophic planetary upheavals that are in store as a direct result of global warming and rising ocean levels and melting ice shelves and so on. Therefore I again recommend to the PRF's consideration the foresty and sparsely populated winter wonderland of Minnesota's far northern Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) as a possible site for establishing some sort of PRF-centric future alternative society. FM dontfeartheringo has been there, and can attest to its natural beauty and its magnificent isolation from many of the horrors of modern American life.

I have had the exact same experience many, many times. At any point, I could've just moved to some warm place and been a beach bum. I love the summer, and the beach, and doing virtually nothing.
