Place to stay in Brooklyn?

Postby Tom on Fri Sep 29, 2017 1:04 pm

Hey, visiting my sister in Brooklyn in October. Anyone have any recommendations of places to stay for us (2 adults, 2 small kids). Ideally around Grand Army Plaza. I've looked at airbnb and didn't see a whole lot, and what there was seemed pretty pricey. any suggetions would be appreciated.

The closest hotel I can recommend is Nu Hotel, and that's not particularly close. A few motels dot Atlantic Avenue and northern Park Slope, but AirBnB is your best bet if you want to be close to Grand Army Plaza.

Hi Joseph. I've lived in that neighborhood for many years .
If you're unfamiliar with it and have any questions feel free to PM me.
If you like beer try Keg and Lantern. They brew their own and the taps are kept in great shape. Lots of daytime football( soccer).

This place seems like a nice place to stay. Not sure about your budget, but it's a relatively near Grand Army Plaza http://www.bbparkslope.com/rates.htm

I live a few blocks away from Grand Army Plz. I can recommend Hungry Ghost, Daly Pie, and Joyce for coffee and pastries.

Travis, thanks for the recommendation. Unfortunately I had to postpone our trip due to a family bereavement. Hopefully get there next April.

Thanks for the suggestions. After trying Airbnb and a couple other local hotels, had to resort to a fucking la quintas. The few local plays that had availability didn't allow kids. Will definitely check out food suggestions.

Also, any suggestions for good places to take a 3 and 4 year old? The options are so many that it's hard to narrow it down.

Is it the La Quinta on Atlantic and Nostrand? If so, there's a place nearby called Berg'n which is kid friendly. It's a large bar with cafeteria-style seating and four restaurant booths.
