Have not heard it in its entirety yet but am thinking The Irascibles' The Blues is a Calling will be one of the better, or at least one of my favorite, new releases of 2018. Comes out in March via Bywyd Records on blue vinyl....

The Irascibles feature former members of Young Marble Giants (two Moxhams) and I like their vocalist (the non-Moxham in the band). For one reason or another they remind me a little of the Mekons though that's probably not the most accurate reference point. Their song "Welcome to the Cage" (which used to be available on their Soundcloud page) is fantastic late night "blues-abilly."

Listening to the Shame record too, very nice!

My friends in Giant Kitty just released their record Rampage. Angry and silly Houston pop-punk with some guest interludes from Kelly Hogan, https://giantkitty.bandcamp.com/

Here's a video from it:

Yeah man, good stuff. Saw them a few weeks ago, sound was kind of off at the venue but otherwise they were great.

New Screeching Femurs album is sounding really good.

This has been controlling my ears since I bought it.

Sure Poster Childrens "Grand Bargain" will close the year, but on the Ides of March. Body Futures is the winner.

New Gnod isn't out until May, but if the rest of this album is half as good as this song, well fuck my cock.

As expected, the new Yo La Tengo is top notch.

Wasn't sure about the new Superchunk album till I saw them live recently and it just totally clicked. I have to listen to it at least twice a day now.

New Yo La Tengo is great, though I could live without half of the album

"She may, She might" is my favorite song of 2018 so far

Yo La Tengo album is superb.

The Sea and Cake and Wrong advance tracks are good songs from future good albums.
