Our AC stopped cooling a few weeks back. Our regular vendor came out and said we have a freon leak, and need a new unit, compressor, fan and all. They filled it with freon and went on their way. It works fine now.

We took their advice and called a few places to come quote on a new unit. Sears was the first vendor to come out, and they quoted us $14,000.00. No typos there. Our house is a 1500 sqft brick ranch. Who would possibly ever say yes to that?

Fuck you, Sears.

Two more vendors to go.

If you had 140 windows, you could get 140 window units for that price and take up ice sculpture.

Squeaky the Cat, an affectionate, wonderful, male tabby of about 19 years, passed away naturally this morning at about 7:45 a.m. I was going to take him to the vet today to have him put to sleep, and I left the house to get gas and money for Cathy. I petted him and told him it was ok, I loved him, and that he could leave now if he wanted. While I was out, Cathy did the same and made him as comfortable as possible. When I got back home, I could see he had stopped breathing, and he let out a last gasp and put one of his paws in the air towards me.
then he was gone. He was a great cat; he will be very missed in this household.

Heartbreaking. My condolences, Mark.

Cashed a check this morning, noticed some silver dollars on the teller's counter, asked for them, now got a pocket full of silver dollars. Stupid silver dollars.

This is good.

What is not good is that I still have to figure out where I'm going to get the money to COBRA my health insurance for the next quarter. Well, to be more accurate, I have to figure out how to replenish my entire "emergency fund" after I pay for my health insurance.

I have been told that the gallery/exhibition space I have been dying to work for needs archive help for the summer and possibly beyond. I am hoping between the up-talking from my friends who work with the proprietor, and my own friendly chatter with the proprietor at several events (including the feedtime show at Maxwell's a few months ago) will help to convince them that I am the perfect person to help them out.

Not getting my hopes up, but wishing pretty hard this happens.

So I have to get my CDL for my new job, which I hate. I don't hate getting the CDL, but I hate my new job to fuck. So I drove a 32 foot bus today for the first time in my life. Funny how they put you in the driver seat and on the busiest road they can find after 3 hours of driving around a closed course with cones and shit. Well played.

I took my son out to eat and didn't deny that what he was eating were chicken nuggets. He ate them all. Then I told him it was tofu.

Is this a regular amount of mosquitos for new york? This is a ridiculously large amount of mosquitos. I miss the midwest!

I have a bite on my arm that is massive, like my friend put his hand on it earlier and said he could feel it kick.

I have one on my face that is pretending to be a pimple but I know the truth.

I have one on my boob making me have to awkwardly find ways to secretly itch my boob at work.

Saw Prometheus last night. It was very entertaining and more than a little bizarre, and pretty totally awesome, and really fucking stupid.

I want to get high and go in a lake.

Two people I hardly know looked through my sketchbook tonight. They complimented me up one side and down the other.
Now me? I hate my art work. I consider myself a cartoonist and a poor one at that but these two people seemed to genuinely like my work. As much as I think that they were just being polite, I thought the compliments were nice.

I'm going to have a lot of fun getting my part time summer intern to learn how to do simple tasks without constant hand holding.

"Call FedEx to schedule a pickup of this package."
"What's the phone number?"
"1-800-GOOGLE"
"That doesn't...oh."

I just tried to call them and I got a recording saying that it is not a working number.
