Tnx guys! The luthier is a band mate of mine. He's made one bass prototype as well. His name is Mihael Bele, not that it will mean anything.

All in all, 10 neck through guitars were made. I have 2.

I even made a crappy demo.

Lu! Those guitars are great. Way into the elegance of the wiring on the one with the invisible pickguard.

My new one I bought off FM Mason:
Image
I've jabbered about the ones in the back before, I'm talking 'bout the black tenor telebastard in front. It's this weird homebrew thing he found, and I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I pulled the trigger. Salut. It's tuned in GCAD kind of like a banjo without the high F#, but an octave lower. That and the p-bass pickups give it a pretty dark to mid tone. It rips.

Played it for a few weeks to see if it was a good fit before sending it off to my guitar tech. Had him straighten the neck, dress the frets, put in a half brass nut and wire the pickups in series for more gain. He also added a push pot in the neck that kind of works like a clicker on a ballpoint pen. The click-up position is much fatter, but the click-up neck position is also now a killswitch. Pretty rad. The duralex coating that it was painted with is a little rough on the forearm, so maybe down the road, I might add a forearm guard. Aside from that it is totally in fighting condition.

Lu, those guitars are bad as hell.

It is my The Paul's birthday, so here is a picture of it.

I'm not really a guitarist, but even if I were this is probably the last guitar I'd ever need. Perfect weight and balance, fast ebony fretboard, hot T-top pickups, and the walnut lets it go from dark and delicate to a glorious snarl with a roll of the volume knob. I love it and want two more.

Also here is this, a 60-something Silvertone 604 that belonged to my grandmother. It's a parlor-sized, Sears-stocked beauty that is near-impossible to keep in tune and sounds WAY better than it should. Loud, clear, midrange-y. Super fun little guitar.

1970 G. K. Hannabach Concert model. The fretboard is suspended, floating above the body, allowing fuller resonation of the soundboard. Strung with Thomastick Folks. The bass trings are steel wrapped nylon, and the treble strings are rope cores wrapped with flatwound nylon. Super fun to play!

A photographer friend took these, not so easy on the eye with the rug. Missing: another Hi Flier that's getting a repaint, a Japanese Fender Jaguar, CMI Rickenbacker copy bass, Ibanez Black Eagle bass, Squier Tele bass.

On the path to opening a shop, if it helps explain the numbers. Plus, I'm 40 FFS. That's a lot of years of being in the right place at the right time. Forgot about the Ibanez PF200 as well.

Exactly. If you like guitars and you like helping people find them (which you do from my own experience) then you quickly end up with tons of the stupid things. I doubt the combined price of what I paid for all of mine would buy the TB500 I sold in the early 2000s these days to be honest.

The first step is finding a complex mathematical workaround justification to explain why it's not a problem.

This kind of comes up in my house all the time. "Well, I bought it for x but I could sell it for x."
