Get your priorities straight. Satisfying gear masturbators is more important than your job.

Ok, I'm kind of having fun with this Bassman Project. I am still kind of new at schematic to Veroboard layout stuff, but here is my first go.

Image

I'll probably put the little Tone Stack part on the same board with the larger board. I just have to find space. I want to keep it small as possible. Not sure I'm doing it as efficiently as possible, but it's a start. If you see anything wrong, let me know. I plan on trying this basic layout on breadboard before building.

The pinouts on the J201 are not like the pinouts on the standard NPN transistor, so your J201s will have a twist in them if mounted up in that layout. I've still not had a chance to take a really solid look yet...

Shit, yer right. SHouldn't be too hard to fix, All I have to do is switch the strip for the source and the gate. I think that should do it though. Thanks for the heads up. I hadn't looked at the data sheet for the 201 yet.

I think this does it.

The components look stacked on top of each other a bit, but like I said, I like to keep it small. As long as it works. I'll probably try to jam the tone circuit in between where the caps and resistors for the first 2 gain stages are. The board will have a lot of cuts in it.

It's a shitty cell phone pic but it's a dope guitar, made from random eBay parts.
The bridge is an excellent vibrato by Babicz

The work I have left is to rout the body to accept normal pickups (it's currently routed for those pups with one screw on one end, two on the other, which nobody seems to use anymore), throw the electronics in there and shred face. Fucker is light as fuck and sounds acoustically excellent.

Working on my most ambitious physical computing project so far. Tonight I got SD card reading/writing working. Tomorrow I start on the XBee data radios.

Yeah, that 0.1nF cap should do something like that. Suck it and see.

Also, scrub that 33K resistor at the input if you want. That was doing the job of controlling HF response in the original design and doesn't work the same here which is why I suggested adding that cap instead.

Being taken seriously is way overrated.

Also, I can't take you seriously if you won't capitalize.

The entire forum spends years going apeshit over barely playable crappy mid-60s Japanese department store guitars with nary a mention or eyebrow raised, but this guitar offends?

Ah, fashion.

Cringe all you will, but this thing sounds awesome and sits well on the lap. Strapped, it is a war sword. Kiss my metal.

Oh and I just wrote a really pretty, almost "indie" sounding song on it.
