I've put the bassman thing on hold until I have time to get into it and really make it what I want it to be. Right now, I just don't have the time. I'll keep you posted.

The Harmonist? No way, man. I am talking some sort of distortion octave deal, with both octave up and down.

Something like this guy, with heavier distortion and not 300 dollars:

Did you ever do that one? Sounds almost like one of these guys:

The PS-3 can do straight octave up bends and stuff with an expression pedal. Not to be confused with the later models. It also does delay pitch shifting stuff.

update: this thing is awesome. Japmn brought it to the show Friday & I had about 30 seconds to mess with the knobs before playing a set; it sounded great. since then I've had a chance to dink around with it and figure out how all the settings really work, and I have to say god damn, it does exactly all the stuff I wanted an overdrive pedal to do plus 3 other things. thanks again man!

Not exactly, I ended up building a Fuzz Face clone with a MXR Phase 45 built in for a guy. It was just 3 knobs, Volume, Tone, and Speed. I think he sold it about 2 days after he bought it from me. I thought it sounded great, but could see how someone looking for a more versatile phaser wouldn't really want it.

Testers Waterslide decals. You get them at hobby shops, they are used to put decals on model airplanes and that stuff. You print them out on an ink jet and coat them in a shit ton of clear coat, and then submerge them in warm water and slide them off onto your pedal. They can be a total pain in the all but look pretty good after they are done.

Some tips if you ever use these:

Use twice as much clear coat on the decal as you think you need and after it is dry, cut around the edge just a little. The clear (spray paint or brush on enamel works best) will give it some rigidity but will want to stick at the edges and if it does, it aint coming off the backing. Also, if you don't use a lot of clear, it will be very flimsy under water and almost impossible to maneuver. Then you have to use a simi-stiff paint brush to push all teh air bubbles and water bubbles from under the decal. It will then be pretty firmly stuck to the pedal. Let it dry, and spray a ton of clear paint on top to seal it on for good. It takes some practice, and I was surprised that it came out this good on the first try.

Another thing I have noticed, The White decal paper is a lot easier to apply than the clear. The clear is almost impossible to slide off without wrinkling it. If I use clear again, I might use some sort of heavy shellac or something like it as clear to try to make it stiffer. On the plus side, the clear paper ages and starts to look kinda old timey after about a year or so.

I think I payed about $8 for a package of 6 (3 clear, 3 white) 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 sheets, and that can print a lot of pedals, like 12 to 15 or more depending on your success rate.

My DIY planned is Sonic-baffles:

portable folding screens (1-2 meters height) behind the mic(s), possibly with acoustical foam in(out)side.

("Joe-Bonamassa"-style or the like they say, donno who it is)

nuts:
baffles produced out of plywood - nice AAA birch ply that you might get across in the industry.

extra nuts:
marine ply :)

Also, just plexiglass screens to separate instruments live
(in theory - less noise, reverb and crosstalk, more comfort for small rooms, such as ours).

Working on a fuzz for my friend Shane. It will be another Tube Sound, but this one will have a single knob Fuzz Face style fuzz built into it. It will have order switching and maybe a transistor swap switch. This is the graphic so far:

That's Shane with a drink and a fag saying "Fuck Yeah!" The pedal is going to be purple with purple knobs. I haven't found any purple LEDs yet, but if I do... Yep!

Fun.
