Uhm... Is this a Crown PCC 160? It's from the great pictures of the Grandfather session. I really like the record by the way...

Yes it is, regularly used as room mic for guitars in Studio A.

Here are a bunch of pictures from the studio in Italy where I did the Transmontane record in July:

I was the first guinea pig session and the result was fantastic. I Couldn't be happier. I took the photos so there's none of me actually playing.

Re: Recording Session Photos (Tal National)

I'm 5 days into recording the new Tal National album in Niamey, Niger. Here's a few photos of the set up. It's pretty similar to the set up the last time I was here, except now there's this huge Che poster in the control room. They already had a Spirit mixing desk and a Shure drum mic kit, and that helps a lot with what I am able to do. We're tracking drums (kick, snare, toms+oh+hh stereo mix), talking drum, lead vocals, solo guitar and bass guitar live, then doing chorus vocals, rhythm guitar etc overdubs.

Ryan Usher's EGC #68. Probably the best-sounding guitar I've ever played, which is no surprise to anyone here. Playing through my Mesa Mark IV made the fucking world crumble.

However, we only tracked one song with it today. In the next two weeks, we'll use it more. What we used it for today though? My little god, man, the most explosive feedback I could muster. Coupled with my delicious little ES-333 TD sig with the Dirty Fingers...yeah.

Extraordinarily nice guitar and I still can't believe he's letting me borrow it.

Recorded late last year at a big concert hall called The Old Museum. An amazing room, great fun.

(Hopefully these photos work, they're from a public facebook page)

The whole set of photos is here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=3 ... 0285420409

And you can stream the finished album from http://soundcloud.com/incremental/sets/ghost-notes-ghost-notes-lp/. Umm... kind of like a jazzier Dirty Three. I guess.

Well, not that I've got anything impressive to show, but These Estates is doing some recording this week and I've got some photos of it. If you're interested in how 19-/20-year-olds record themselves in a basement.
