My brother got the new album and has been listening to it non-stop.

Personally, yes, people are right that it's much more consistent than the earlier work, but it's also mind-numbingly boring. I swear to god, it was like listening to paint drying.
I'm just trying to be a better person. My name is Brock.

I've really warmed to it with a lot of repeat listening. Very much Angel Dust PtII in many ways.

I really fucking am not going to look up Sunnyside Up in the urban dictionary...

Should be pointed out that these reissues are being done by Warner and not by FNM, although i assume FNM will get some sort of royalty from them.

Crap.

And the light from the nearest waffle will take billions of years to reach us.

God I hate this band. I really, honestly, and truly, have no idea why it is that anyone likes them. But if you do, then hey go for it, and I hope that you like the new album.

Not sure if those that like this sort of thing have seen/heard this:

IMO the best live bootleg in terms of sound (off the desk), set and performance, Patton is at his vocal/frontman peak. This is probably blasphemy to some but Dean Menta's playing is really great, shame they fired him for the vibe killer they have now.

I listened to Angel Dust and The Real Thing about a year ago for the first time, b/c of the news about the reissues. I thought this would be a band I'd totally enjoy, but surprisingly, I didn't like much of either of them. I like a couple of songs by them - Anne's Song, Arabian Disco, We Care A Lot, Epic, Be Aggressive, even that cover of Easy is pretty good. But I'm gonna have to go with Crap overall.
- "Whatever happened to that album?"
- "I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall, and it like, shattered."

Oh, that's sad to hear. Chuck was the best thing about FNM.

I'd put it differently, they were a better band with him in it.
I used to play guitar for Elma and Buistra, and bass for Are You God?.
More recently did these:

Seriously people are going bitch about who was the better singer the day after Chuck dies?

Introduce Yourself came when I was still a late impressionable teen. I heard the single We Care A Lot on rock radio and it confused the hell out of me. It had thrashy guitars but pop glam sensibility and a singer who seemed to fit more into a punk band. I bought the record nonetheless and I grew to love every song on it. No small part of that was Chuck's vocals. He couldn't sing (but he could sing) and everything he wrote about grasped at some aspect of love, life, friendship, death and everything in between. He was a punk rock romantic. Chaotic, flakey but somehow beautiful.
I still love that record. I feel the same way about the first record too. If I need cheering up, I put it one of them on, I sing along and I maybe even dance a bit.

I was so sad to hear Chuck had passed away. I'm so glad I bought his records though.

If you are bothered, watch the gig at the i-beam from 1986:
