Triple Crown Audio Recordings of Canada

Also has some Ladyhawk related records which are pretty damn good.

Sorry for the plug...

Yo Braden, is this the "Ideas For Songs" tape? Because that rules. Shit's catchy as hell and has the right amount of ironic distance and bleak sarcasm to get me to laugh. Any word on this?

It's pretty much the tape, yeah. I'm pretty sure they remastered from the mixes that were used to make the tape rather than the cassette master itself. So the track listing may differ slightly, I can't fully recall, but it's a pretty great listen front to back. The artwork is ace as well.

New album out in August. Single released: http://www.stereogum.com/1803221/destro ... over/mp3s/

I think I'm bored of Bejar.

I've come to the conclusion that he's not crap, but he's also fucking intolerable.

New song sounds like "All Things Must Pass."

Which is a good thing - never saw it coming.

I really love "This Night" a lot, but never got hooked on anything else.

Picked up the 2xLP of Destroyer's Rubies a month or so ago and totally love it. Now I need to catch up on everything else I've missed over the last decade or so (the only other record I heard was Synth Blues).

Streethawk: A Seduction is probably the best. Really adventurous songwriting. Pretty hard to find for a reasonable price on vinyule at the moment.

Oh yeah, I love Streethawk and the other earlier records. Would also love to find on vinyl for not stupid prices.

I haven't kept up since Kaputt. Has he come up with something particularly good since then?

I love this video. I know it's Vancouver, but it reminds me of good times in Montreal: riding my bicycle home at dawn after a vivifying night of debauchery.

Poison Season had a few good cuts, but I didn't think it was as strong as Kaputt, which is my favorite out of what I've heard from him. Haven't heard the new one. I liked Destroyer's Rubies initially, but I rarely went back to it.

Mr. Bejar is not crap. He played a solo show here at this restaurant/music venue in town a few years ago, it was a solid show. He covered The New Pornographers' 'Streets of Fire', which was a nice surprise.
- "Whatever happened to that album?"
- "I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall, and it like, shattered."

I don’t like his new record at all, but we’ll always have This Night.
