This isn't right, I don't like XYZ etc. Then a few weeks down the line it's all they listen to. It's kind of viral in that sense, which makes me think that one day they will be regarded as a great band on a wider level.
Yeah, this describes my experience perfectly.
"That guy can't sing! Wait, they're all singing? Okay, none of them can sing."
"The bass sounds stupid, why is it being played like that, stupid."
I mean really, Lifestyle pissed me off so much. Obviously I love it now.
Raging Bull was what unlocked them for me.

Ha, this is funny. I was first introduced to Silkworm via the PRF. Had never encountered the band in any form until I started intently lurking here in... 2008? 2009? I grabbed Firewater and felt kinda 'meh' about it. Really liked the Chokes EP (I think it's the only SKWM record on Emusic, that's why I grabbed it). Listened to it a bit then moved on.
Then I ran across that video for Violet on YouTube (I think Ptommydski put it online, actually). I listened to it over and over again for weeks. Can't remember the last time I did that with a song. Been (very) slowly plowing through the catalogue in reverse chronological order ever since.
Still don't really like Firewater.

FYI Jon, It'll Be Cool is there twice, at two different prices.

I certainly love fire water, so let's hope the album is just as good!
