i've just started watching this, almost done with season 2. this show rules. i'm sure i'm echoing about 500 other people but i'm really impressed by cranston's performance. during the first few episodes it was hard to buy into his character and stop myself from constantly thinking, "man, why is hal from malcolm in the middle acting so glib and angry? oh, right, this is a different show." now, watching clips of malcolm in the middle makes me instead think "man, why is walter white acting like such a doofus? oh, right, this is a different show." walter white is definitely the role he'll now be remembered best for, absolutely no doubt.

i don't know if this is a spoiler or not on account it's from season 2 (maybe it is? POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT anyway) but i think my favourite moments thus far have to have come from the episode where jesse and walter get stuck in the desert after their rv battery dies. when walter asks jesse what he's going to build to get them out of there and jesse hopefully replies "...a robot?". also, when walter asks jesse what element will provide current for the battery and jesse replies, "oh, wire!", apparently believing that "wire" is an element. poor jesse, the entire episode you so badly want for him to get something right, just one thing.

really really looking forward to the next two seasons, i've heard from near everyone that it just gets better and better from here.

I recall Vince Gilliam saying it was accidental.

That's like saying a McDonalds cheeseburger is better than a steak from Peter Luger's.

For the record, I like Breaking Bad but I consider it to be rather trashy entertainment.

About an hour ago, I met Giancarlo Esposito on the street. I looked at him and he looked at me and smiled as we waited to cross the street.

-Great show, man. Just unbelievable.
-Thank you, sir. I'm very blessed.
-It's too bad you won't be on anymore.
-Oh, don't worry. I'll be back.
-Really? Wow. Anyway, great job, man.
-Thank you, sir. If you're going to go out, go out big, right?
-Absolutely!

So that was pretty cool.

Fuck, I thought you were kidding on FB about this. Now I'm stoked both for you having met him and to dream about season 5.

Love this show. Not much else to add here but in season 5 i don't see a happy ending. did they ever mention how much money Walt and Jesse made? I can see Pinkman starting to get greedy now that he has a "family" and Walt trying to preserve his legit business. I saw the Gus angle after the credits started to roll. One thing I'm curious about is the money trail from Skylars boss. I can see that as a huge loose end that Walt hasn't accounted for. I'm pretty much expecting complete and utter chaos now that the two think they're safe.

I don't care for it.

Watched the first episode two days ago. Tried to watch the second episode this morning but gave up halfway through.

i am the smud described Breaking Bad as rather trashy entertainment, and I completely agree.

We just finished season 4. Great stuff. Jesse is a great character and an amazing actor. Every bit as good as Walt. The Gus part at the very end seemed a little out of character for that show (visually) but that was my only complaint. I predict season 5 revolving around walt's ego- he's gonna realize he enjoys 'the game' and continue on his own.

i think that next to the wire, anything looks trashy. the wire "tells it like it is" and few other shows can pretend to do that.

personally, i like breaking bad as much as the wire and refuse to choose a favorite.

This was the best "parody" of Breaking Bad I've seen so far. Thanks for this.

If Walt is the show's "cancer", growing larger and larger, affecting more and more people that he cares about, maybe he somehow buys Gray Matter? Becomes a silent partner or something like that?

He starts cooking meth partially out of spite. He could have just accepted Gray Matter's help. He eventually agreed to buy the car wash only after it turned out Bogdan had disrespected him completely. Very little seems to have affected Walt on such a personal level as did Gray Matter's betrayal. Does he ever get so mad at anyone early on in the show besides his ex? It'd certainly be an interesting way to complete his transition into becoming BB's ultimate antagonist.
