Nomeansno are very good. But they are not close to being as good as the Minutemen, who for my money are among the best bands ever. I mean, pick another band for Nomeansno to go up against -- this contest isn't the least bit fair.

Perhaps someone should start a Drive Like Jehu vs. Nomeansno thread.

Minutemen. Not many bands can beat them.

I bet any good Beefheart fan would appreciate the Minutemen.

I don't see it.

. . .their stuff gets supremely irritating after a few songs when you just sit and listen to it at home. Way too busy, too white-boy funk and the singer's voice grates on my nerves.

This is how I feel about Double Nickels.

Sorry2008.

It's in the rhythmic interplay - it's pure Beefheart in that sense, except they use it in a less overtly angular fashion.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

In the someday, what's that sound.

Which of course is how we judge and listen to music. Nomeansno by a landslide.

THINK THE MINUTEMEN ARE THE GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME.
