Just watched it anyhow. Christ, is it any wonder we were scared shitless?

Watched The Day After in one of my history classes in high school. The acting is pretty canned, and the different character developments are also pretty ludicrous. Threads sounds like it can annihilate it just by looking at it.

Well, I did say Steve Guttenberg was in it.

Almost 10 years since I saw this thread about Threads and was intrigued, I finally got around to watching this movie.

It's pretty damn good. Dark as hell, but not nearly as depressing an experience as I'd expected. Maybe it's because I had done a bit of prep work on the movie and read about it ahead of time.

The classic BBC movies are pretty fucking great, let's be honest.

Also, Carl Sagan showed up in the credits as an advisor. Badass.

Harrowing film.

Steve Guttenberg, I’m pretty sure the whole Tom Hanks’ life he wakes up everyday and thinks,”Steve Guttenberg, there but for the grace of god go I”

From what I remember, it didn't really have much in common with the other Police Academy films. It was better when they had the guy who did sound effects with his voice.

So it has had an effect on me. I won't call it "profound", but the images in it keep coming back to mind in the week since I watched it.

"Kes" had a similar impact on me, but 50x more lasting.

I guess I'm just a sucker for those "trouble up norff" disastepressing flicks.

LOVE this film although it is a day-wrecker.

It's interesting the Blu-ray came out in the US (read review here) just after all this Trump vs. Kim Jong-un nuke stuff got going.

Two pages, no mention of Anne Sellors. Shame on us all.

I heard her and Pietro Barzocchini have a buddy cop movie in the works.
