Clean my ass. They piss and shit in boxes that we scoop out into our own stinking trash bins. They cough up furballs and puke up food, for us to come behind and clean up like little bitches. "Oh, lemme get that for you. No need to trouble yourself."
I'm sick off all domesticated pets though, so my attitude is bad. Dogs shed and slobber everywhere. They go outside to do their bidness, but bring back in twigs, leaves, and mud as a result.

I'm all about celebrating both (though I enjoy ribbing my cat-loving buddies for the species's drawbacks), just because of the whole "Animals in general are way cooler than most people" thing.

That being said, I love dogs so much more than cats. There's something about cats that kind of grosses me out. Dogs make me happy. Cats inspire ambivalence followed by light revulsion.

I'll still love on a kitty if one comes around, though. It can't help that it's kinda gross.

Dogs are great. Fantastic personalities in one's that don't fail at being cool. Down side, needing to take them out to piss/shit. Plus, the whole dog getting off it's leash scenario is terrifying. Cats suck in all the ways dogs can as well but at least they shit in a box. Litter boxes can get fucking wretched if not cleaned frequently. I can't vote as I love both. I never liked cats till I saved/stole my cat from the streets of KCMO. I lucked out and my cat rules and prevents me from having terrible nightmares when he sleeps with me.

Dogs. No question. However, as someone who prefers urban living (ie: apartment,) having a dog can be problematic. I don't understand why someone would buy a dog and then lock it up for nine hours. I could dig a cat who is by and large mellow.

If I had to kill a dog, I could, and I'd feel very little of anything after. If it were attacking someone or looked at me funny or peed on the rug or whatever, and I had to do it, I would not hesitate. I'd say 'that's a shame' or whatever but as soon as they removed the carcass, I'd be making a sandwich, talking about some movie or something.
There's no way I could even injure a cat, no matter what it was doing, just could not do it. If it were scratching a loved one's neck veins open and blood was spraying everywhere, could not do it. I'd squirt water at it, possibly, with a spray bottle, but I'd find it right after and apologize.
A dog is a dime a dozen, just go get a new dog. A cat, on the other hand, every cat has a distinct personality and likes and dislikes, ideas.
A dog eats turds with the exact same vigor as hamburgers and runs in circles barking at it's own nutsack, what a huge loss to humanity if it were replaced.

What's worst is cat fanciers and most cat people. Especially on Facebook.
"Look at my wonderful, unique cat!" they exclaim and it's yet another monstrously unexciting picture of a cat that looks like any other, vapidly looking at the photographer, blank-minded.

So they make up photos, videos and stories that are untrue about their mundane furniture-ruining claw masters. They build ugly carpeted furniture for these selfish animals and allow their dirty cats to roam about their food preparation areas, to climb around valuables, knocking them to the floor, to sit on their computers, clogging them with disgusting hairs. And then the cat-people pick up that mental disease that has been proven through science to infect their human slaves' brains.

All because they do not have the physical and mental capacity to handle the most noble of all domestic beasts, the dog. The dog, that protects humans, actually loves and appreciates them unlike the domestic cat which gives not a shit about the people that provide for them.

So they go to cat-shows with other people that suffer the same brain problems, wearing images of the animals they slave after, provide fecal containers for, let ruin their belongings while at at the same time worshipping them.

I don't care about the rest of your rant but this point here is total and complete bullshit. Anyone who has cared for a cat for its entire life knows they love you and are capable of a great range of emotions that has nothing to do with meeting their basic needs. You have to earn that love, sure, but once you do it's yours for the cats life.

I grew up with both. Both have their pros and cons. Most of my adult life has been spent in urban environments therefore cats have suited my lifestyle better and I have had one or two for the last 17 years now but if I ever had a house with a yard I'd totally consider a couple of dogs.

The cat feces mind control phenomena thing is true but it's not typical or common. Most cat owners do not have this parasite.

My current cat is clean, respectful of my stuff, doesn't claw and destroy anything because I've socialised and trained him how to behave properly and I keep him as stress free as possible, stays off the counter and the kitchen table and keeps his box neat and shits tidy.

This next paragraph isn't directed personally towards zom just people with shitty attitudes towards cats in general. What I can't particularly stand is the mindless bigotry and hatred of cats that comes not from anything they do but from people misunderstanding how they behave and communicate. They are not dogs and will not act like dogs and people shouldn't expect them to. Some people who have never kept an animal will get a cat when what they really want is a dog but because they are clueless and live in an apartment will get a cat and never get along with it and hate it for being catlike. People are needlessly cruel towards cats and dismissive of them and their caretakers. To those people I say go fuck yourselves and when you are done try to find some compassion for these beautiful creatures you know nothing about. At the very least stop being such assholes about them because you are ignorant of their ways. There is a reason so many people keep them and just because you can't understand why doesn't mean they are wrong or stupid to do so. Cat people don't seem to be needless assholes about dogs yet dog people seem to feel entitled to be assholes about cats and wax superior about their dogs every chance they get. What's their fucking problem?

I've had dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, horses, raccoons, snakes, toads, hamsters, gerbils, fish living with me.

Man cat-people get so mad. I raised several cats and one of my cats wouldn't have her kittens unless I sat with her the whole time, she chased me down and demanded that I stay while they were all born.

I like cats fine, and I like jokes.
