That trailer didn't tease me with much of anything. Still confused.

What amuses me is that teaser trailer is about 100x more interesting than the trailer for Avatar.

Review.
Doesn't give anything away really that the trailer doesn't.
It may get you hyped up for it
to a level it cannot reach.

Standard sci-fi plot I guess but very intense as far the simultaneous levels of action. Cool flick. I'm going again. Especially cool from the second row of the Arclight Cinerama Dome.

I haven't seen Inception yet but all of Christopher Nolan's previous films have been crap.

I saw this yesterday while trying to escape the ridiculous heat we've been having here lately. According to this interview, Nolan took a lot of influence from Borges while making the movie, and while I don't wanna give anything away, it definitely shows. I enjoyed it. Not Crap, minuscule waffles for some dialogue that didn't work for me.

I liked it a lot in spite of the fact that I saw it surrounded by the fucking tweaker Clampetts in our rundown one-screen theater. The music is by Hans Zimmer and is used overbearingly, but in an interesting way. A firm not crap.

Well "crap" is too harsh considering that I thought Following, Insomnia and The Prestige were decent thrillers.

That conceded, I disliked Memento and I think that the two Batman films, particularly The Dark Knight are adolescent-targeted rubbish.

Not as good as it should have been. IMO Nolan varies from VERY GOOD (The Prestige, Memento) to average and this would fall in that remit.

I guess after Batman he is gold tho.

Not Crap.
It was good. Need to see again.

A couple of things bothered me
SPOILERS:

too long.
I think if it was tightened up I would have liked it much better.
I mean seriously. The skiing gun battle scene was way too long
Seemed totally unnecessary and boring.
and took up so much time at the end it sticks out the most.

I actually liked the scenes with Leo and his wife.

One Question:
How did Leo find the 'old man' in Limbo?
He washed up on shore but he made it seem like he'd have to find him
somehow, but it made it seem like he easily dreamed his way to the beach
and the old man's fortress.

This morning I'm thinking that Ellen Page's Ariadne, who was used primarily for exposition in her scenes with DiCaprio, would have certainly Google'd his ass to see what she was getting involved with. If I was top of my class in architecture at a European university, with the world at my feet, I would want to know a whole lot about the guy who was drawing me into some shady shit, no matter how mind-blowing it seemed.

I teetered into crap.

How many G.D. exposition/foreshadowing lines can you give before bumble starts setting fires? Well, we were at that point, but none of the pansies I was with had kindling. Seriously, Ariadne said the EXACT SAME LINE at least 3 times. spoiler alert, sort of--->Gee, what IS gonna happ'n down there with Unhinged Dom? Golly, I guess we'll wait another 45 fucking minutes to find out what we have already been told several times. Now hand me that fucking lighter.

Borges? Yeah, I was punched in the face with Borges. Ugh.

I also want to set that IGN review on fire. Matrix, Heat, I got those too. But what I REALLY got was this hit from 198-f'in-6.

I'm also with Shoe, in that parts just took way too long. I was of a mind several times to walk out. The snow sequence was completely overdone.

This movie reminded me much more of Memento (which I found portentous) than The Prestige.

The movie thinks it's more clever than it is. He should leave this to Lynch.

I didn't get the 'movie thinks its more clever than it is'
Thank God though cause that would have made me enjoy it less.

It did that thing (thankfully only a couple of times)
that special effect laden movies do
where they feel the need to shove it in your face that your witnessing a 'spectacular' special effect.

The scene with Ms. Page sitting outside a cafe and everything starts exploding was one example of it.

I think it could have been a lot more enjoyable if it was tightened up.

It had some real genuine moments.

I thought Cillian Murphy (woof!) was pretty good at times
Some of the imagery in Mal's and Leo's Limbo was cold (but very beautiful)
I actually came close to shedding a tear when you saw
them as an old couple walking hand in hand
