While we're on it.

I truly adore this band. Usually I find most "modern punk" to be insipid and tiresome, especially in vague political lyrics, but Chris' words always hit home.

Less Talk, More Rock is one of my favourite records ever, although I tend to not listen to the John Samson songs as much. It's a little less tongue in cheek than most of their other stuff. I really enjoyed their I'd Rather be Flag Burning, esp. Oka Everywhere. They've recommended some really great reads ("Refusing to be a Man") and have some of the most emotionally charged political lyrics since DK.

"And yes I recognize the Irony/Of biting the hand that feeds/That's exactly why privleged fucks like me/should feel obliged to whine and kick and scream/Til everyone has everything they need."

Killer live show, waffle factor for their last record with the crappy new bass player.

Plus, I own this shirt and I love it:

I actually prefer the new album. I also thought the "crappy new bassist"'s last band, I Spy was rather good.

The other stuff, i enjoy, always did, but the new album really withstands a solid amount of listens ("Bullshit Politicians"- my fav of the album, an ordinary 'punk' subject line but a good application of songwriting to me)
they have the whole political thrash roots thing going on and it seems like they are more of whatthey should be as opposed to something pushed out of Ryan Greene/"phat" Mike's colon.

as for their label, G7, i see waht their doing and wished I cared enough to buy more. But i have a condition known as "chomsky incontinence".

I've never heard them but I'm giving them a crap because gutter punks like to wear Propaghandi patches safety pinned to their jackets. And that name is stupid.

Not Crap, although I don't like their tunes. I find some of their rhetoric slightly heavy-handed, but I almost always agree with the sentiments.

That T-Shirt is pretty rad too.

Not Crap, Waffle factor 4.

CRAP...though i kind of like "Haile Selassie Up Your Ass"...i haven't heard it in years, but in my memory that one song kind of sticks out as alright...the one good outcome of their heavy handidness is a song saying "fuck religion" over and over...

I like these guys, they are funny guys. I credit them along with Descendents from getting me out of my 'classic rock' listening rut in high school.

I have How to Clean Everything, and based off of that I would say they're obnoxious, slightly more intellegint than NOFX punk, with a pretty generic sound. Although yeah, I did like that Ska Sucks song.

Huh... I already voted on this... I wonder what I voted..

If I hadn't, right now I would vote Not Crap :WF: 7

Though I never had Less Talk..., their progression as musicians from How To Clean... to Today's Empires... is admirable.

Yeah, they're a punk band, but they're out there with a message and they actually do know pretty well what they're talking about (which is more than can be said for bands like NOFX, who appear to hate bush just cause it's cool to hate bush).

Also, sentimental for being one the last punk bands I was into and helping build the bridge to "indie rock" for me.

"How to Clean Everything" is a great record. Overtly political music is always "heavy-handed", but theirs is done with enough humor and self-critique that it makes me smile, rather than cringe, as does, say, Bad Religion. "Less Talk" I don't like as much, but it's still good. Haven't heard anything since, but I'm still likely to throw on either of those two when GWB, the Fundamentalists, or the NRA, e.g., do something particularly insidious.
If it wasn't for landlords, there would have been no Karl Marx.

Brilliant. Progressive, no fucking about, intelligent punk rock. I don't know how you could think that was crap. I could understand you not liking it though.

I would give ten NOFXs for Propagandhi. Not crap.

Bump.

Probably my favourite band 10 years ago. Intelligent and hilarious.

I loved I*Spy, but I thought Todays Empires... was really disappointing for the most part.

I finally got around to hearing their newest record, Potemkin City Limits. I guess it came out over a year ago. Fuck, they've come a long way - both as musicians and songwriters. I like this record a lot.
