Oh, I know.

This same friend once took a few hits of acid an hour before he was supposed to play some festival show, only to lock himself in the van when he saw his band mates "coming" for him.

Linking this because some Vh1 journalist actually took the time to write a well-researched article instead of a sloppy, confused, half-cocked hack job (and because the article tells its own future):

Still, there are more interesting things to write about than manufactured controversy

Some of our members tour North America and Europe with some frequency

Some of our members play on bills with musical legends

Some of our members are micro-legends in their own right

Is it really that exciting or noteworthy when another stupid fucking gossip website posts a link or talks about this stupid shit?
'Look! Look! Another website nobody gives a fuck about or would ever in a million years look at said something about this place!'
Who gives a fuck what they say about anything? These are websites that track the hairstyles and publicity beard dating habits of closeted actors otherwise. Who fucking cares? They are people magazine, dude. Even if people magazine wrote a 15 page article about ME personally, I cannot imagine I would ever read it. I suppose I would flip through it if I was in a doctor's office or something, but for fuck's sake, people. This is not the doctor's office, there's gotta be something to talk about.

Maybe if we ask nicely, Vh1 will live stream our parties for us. I mean, we manage, but we could use some of those slick production values to capture these things in their full glory:

And did you also know that one of our members, a lowly intern, invented Groupon? No, that's not a joke. I never understand why controversy is always the thing you folks fall back on. There are far more interesting things out there than rehashes of the same time-tested stories.

Marsupialized wrote:there's gotta be something to talk about

We don't disagree here. Dude or dudette is just trying to make a dollar though. But if that person is putting that much thought and effort into an article like that, why not suggest writing articles about more interesting topics? Won't likely help, but it can't hurt. The whole industry is panicking, and the solution seems to be that controversy and celebrity vaginas get hits--write about those things (and please, post a picture). I think the solution involves some standard of integrity and quality control.

The Odd Future thread itself, in which the poll now stands at 69% crap, has now become a way for the members to track the stories about the feud. This piece will likely get linked there soon.

Dammit PJ, why'd you have to prove them right?

The writer foretold the article's future. I felt compelled to be the one to complete the circle of life.

I also would like to know what's up with that tee. I found myself laughing and I'm not really sure what it's referencing.

Odd Future: Ok, but unmemorable. Most likely forgotten in 2 years (3 max). Crap.

Waving one's hands in the air trying to get the attention of someone who wrote an article about a non-story: also CRAP.

Haha. If it's the shirt I'm thinking of, it's probably an image of poker pro, Barry Greenstein.

I'll never understand the tizzy some of these people start feeling in their panties when some bullshit website somewhere that nobody cares about writes something about this place. Have some fucking dignity for Christ's sake.
I mean, freaking out over Gossip Wolf is one thing, it's read by at least 15 or 20 people each week. This type of shit?
What I am saying, if you cannot keep your head in the game, you should go sit in the parking lot. There is an adult game going on here and toddlers wandering into the middle of the field are just looking for trouble.
Rap music is for teenagers with brain damage and shitty parents. Gossip websites are for terrible yuppie women who are bored at their office jobs. Why these things are being taken out here, laid on a blanket and shown to the class as something interesting, I have no clue. Remedial dipshittery 101 is down the hall, take it on down there, they'll love that shit.
If this shitty rap group gets one more blurb for their publicist to seed out to these sites to show how 'rude, wild and crazy' they are from here, from the once proud PRF, it'll be a damn shame.

I certainly see what you mean, but someone took the time to research this place and seemed to be at least somewhat into the idea on an individual level. I think it's worth attempting to engage the outside world instead of retreating into our shibboleth (or compound).
