You dipshits may be due for a 12 page essay on the subject...

first lp feedtime OK
2d LP - Cooper S the Bomb
3d LP - Shovel very good
4th LP recorded in america with Butch Vig - a little too clean sounding, starting to sound a little too similar to the other stuff.
5th Lp - OK

They are a 3 piece, very heavy bluezy sludgy. Lots of great slide guitar, minimalist drumming, very little cymbals. Some art school random noises. When they bear down, they are a force of nature. No other band sounds like this. One of my greatest insprations to start a band.

Kind like a slower, more serious, Cosmic Psychos without the guitar solos.

The only band whose logo i painted on the back of my leather jacket.

Entirely crap free....

Disagree with you there, this is one of my favorites - i think i like it even better than Shovel.

I see I wrote this a few months ago. Seeing as this band is my favorite band I thought I'd go back and say Shovel is clearly the better album.

However, everything they put out is solid gold. My favorite band, for sure.

I love this band.. one or two riffs per song, bass heavy and loose with sloppy slide guitar and throaty vocals suggesting a serious polyp buildup problem ...A certain local record store here has their first four releases in stock...vinyl of course. my friend( and drummer) grabbed the first one...I am going to beat him back to the store and grab the next three. the best part is there all mint and the most expensive one was priced at $8. feedtime as far as I know hasn't had any reissues and typically their vinyl goes for around $30. This store doesn't know what they've got.

great band if a mite inconsistent to my ears.

far and away, shovel is the best album.

cooper-s is a lot of fun.

I can't believe robert christgau actually reviewed them. He gave Shovel an A-.

I really liked them, esp Shovel. It holds up--I tend to grab it if someone asks me to play records someplace.

Shovel is good. I feel like I saw a Feedtime spin-off once in the Entry...or maybe it was the Cosmic Pyschos.

I don't know, they were fat, shirtless, shoeless, Austrialian and got into a shouting match w/ my wife. There were like 8 people in attendance.

Not crap.

I'd guess King Snake Roost, though that description covers
most Aussies.
Except, feedtime...I'm pretty sure they had some class.

King Snake Roost/Grong Grong had tons of class. They dripped it, practically. What is a ski-mask-n-cowboy-hat wearing man who gaffer-tapes steaks to an op-shop suit if not classy?

Sounds like the Psychos. I haven't seen them since Robbie died and Ross kicked out Bill. But Ross is generally harmless, albeit loud, drunk and occasionally stupid.

Oh, and feedtime is still one of my favorite bands ever, of all time. 1st LP, Shovel, the covers record, all super genius. Not to be missed.

got your facts wrong on a few counts here pal. shovel was 2nd lp & cooper s was 3rd & suction the 4th lp was recorded by butch vig in sydney, which last time i looked was still in australia . feedtime never toured the u.s. ever ... & they were nothing like the cosmic psychos except that they are from the same era & country. feedtime preceded that other band by at least a 3 years & wipe the floor with those wankers.

YES! SOMEONE ELSE UNDERSTANDS!

Also, I like the psychos, but yeah feedtime are in a separate class of their own. They worshiped X (the Aussies), from what I understand, and X are pretty much the only band i can think of that is remotely in the same class as feedtime, who are still better.

My praise will only echo what many have said above. Great band w/a totally weird, slightly inbred, extremely distinctive sound. Very grunty, buzzing, simple, and primitive, but in this extremely calculated sorta way. Sick bass tone. Atypical, non-cliched blues influence. Shovel and Cooper S are the ones to get, but I haven't heard them in 15 years... Makes the Cosmic Psychos (who never did much for me) seem like clown college.

For a while I thought part of the drum pattern on "Shovel" consisted of drumfeedtime tapping a rhythm on the rim of one of his drums. Imagine how confused I was when I realized it was actually the bassist.

ok, I got the chronology wrong. trust me, I am familair with the music and the difference between the two bands mentioned.

the early cosmic psychos was massive thick sludge and not dissimlar in ultimate result to the massive thick artsy sludge on the early feedtime records.

I thought the butch vig record was made in Wisconsin. I could have sworn that feedtime came to the US to make it, and that they played a few shows in the midwest while they were here. But I could be wrong. My memory of events of 20-odd years ago is generally poor.
