Rick, you are the nicest guy in noise rock.
Although I admit a lot of Shovel has grown on me, I still think it's your weakest (not including the covers album, because how do you count a covers album in with your other stuff? They're different things completely), despite "Curtains" probably being in my top five feedtime songs.
feedtime is the most varied and sounds excellently raw when pumped at full volume, Suction sounds more polished, yes, but all the better for the clarity of the music, the slide guitar playing on this record is incredible (see "Ever Again" and "Confused Blues"), finally Billy is an album that while repetitive, is absolutely relentless in its pounding. Great fun if you're in the mood. Also - "Melody Line" and "Long Haul" destroy me every time.
The other guitarist in my band has always toyed with using a slide guitar, and we have on two occasions in a very traditional way, so Rick can we rip you off just an eeny weeny bit?

well hello, mr. feedtime. I was more amazed that Christgau had even heard of you. no offense but you guys are a mite obscure in terms of fame and things like that. plus he gave you at least one great quote you could use if you wanted to use it for promotion: "Jesus and Mary [Chain] are wimps by comparison, Motorhead sellouts."
At this point I've given more of the catalog a listen and I might have to back off from my audacious claim of shovel being your best album. some of the others took a bit of time to sink in for me. the first album is really great. I do love shovel to death, though.

It's Mr, and I have Mayyors' discography on my iTunes. Really good stuff.

I love it! No need to worry about me though, there's plenty stuff to do in my hometown. i actually live in sacramento, home of SS, i think the mayyors are from around here too. it's rare that i miss a show because of my age or anything. anyway i just wanted to show some support despite not being able to show up.

hi bill i like it when people are prepared to say this is good and this is a bunch of crap or whatever it tells a truth for their way of seeing please rip away wherever you want i got to speak one line of mr ledbetter at one time...dollar bill wont buy you no shoes...so how could i tell you to not rip (whatever that is) me or mine? just take it and regard it if you will as something that belongs to you and others...just do the music some justice, thats all i would ask of you
