Definitively Not Crap (as if it needed saying)

95bFM in Auckland are running a great podcast series at the moment on Flying Nun EPs. Here's the Boodle Boodle Boodle one

Thank you for the link, Monkey Killer.

I blabbed previously about wondering whether my copy of Boodle is a repress or not.... well, discog forces would tell me yes, it's "inauthentic." 'Was never going to sell the thing for more than $25 (kinda as a 'statement,' which makes me the pretentious one, yes) but it's funny how music fans and record speculators often find themselves in the same bed without meaning to or wanting to fuck. That NZ and OZ-rock is the latest "growth area" for collector-investors AND plain fans seems deserved, cuz it's great rock. But it's unfortunate that the Kilgours or Galbraiths or Russels or Celibate Rifles won't see as much dough as will the lp-entrepeneurs unleashed upon this weird moment. [I cannot wait until I see the first Ebay listing of a Bats record with "KBD" written in the heading for marketing purposes.]

It's like a balm, thus, that Flying Nun and friendly radio lets us hear these nice rare fruits gratis. Thanks again for the head's up.

So agree. You hear about how great these records are, but never get to hear them

I agree.

It must be frustrating to be one of these musicians and see your old records become collector's items while hardly any of the money that's changing hands goes to you.
